    Take a boat trip

As part of a Thomsons tour, I went on a boat trip along the Manavgat River.
At the river in the town on Manavgat, you can choose from a few different companies who run boat rides along the river.
The trip was 2 hours long. The destination was a beach. It took 45 minutes to get there, we had half an hour at the beach, then had another 45 minute boat ride back again.

The boat could fit approx. 50 people seated. There are small tables with all chairs/benches. There is a small bar onboard where you can purchase hot, cold and alcoholic drinks. Prices just above average.

As part of the pre-booked tour, lunch was provided on the boat. The food was basic and tasted fine, nothing special, but not inedible.

Along the river, you could see beautiful landscapes. The sun was beating down on us and there was a chill in the wind. It was lovely to sit at the top of the boat in the fresh air.
What I personally found really interesting were the shipyards we passed. I could see how ships were built and the work involved. Some of the ships were huge. I really enjoyed exploring this with my sense of sight!
The ride was just right in the length of time and the beach was nice but windy!!

Around all of Turkey, as it is a Muslim country, there are 1000s of Mosques.
I loved seeing every Mosque that I saw. They are all different and have beautiful domes and spires.
One of the photos is of the biggest Mosque on the Mediterranean side of Turkey which holds 3000 people praying!

    MANAVGAT WATER FALLS

I guess you could put this place under tourist trap if you wanted to, don't get me wrong its a beautiful place to be on a hot Turkish day but the waterfalls are not very large really and apart from market stalls and a few restaurants there is little else here to see. These falls are worth seeing if you are in the area but not really worth a days travelling to get there

    Manavgat Falls

    Manavgat falls behind us

I read about this on the guide but it wasn't truly as spectacular as I thought it would be. We passed by and saw it for about 10 minutes (had ice cream sticks too) on the way to Aspendos from Termessos.

A boat tour alongside the river Manavgat is absolutely worth to take. You spent few hours on board, admire the countryside passing by, have an excellent lunch, and a lot of entertainment, including the belly dance.

Being to Turkey, it is "a must" to attend a performance of Belly Dance. In our way back, this supple girl with beautiful figure presented us some traditional belly dances.
Men's public rewarded her with some money - Tip.

Next to the only higher tree, far around, a new building is built. I took this photo, because the method of construction is total different than I know. First a skeleton is erected, and the roof topped, and after that, other construction works are made.

And here we are. This is a place, where we landed. This is also the place, where the river meets the sea. A narrow peninsula, is in whole a sandy beach. No shadow at all. Just warm sand, a stall where you can hire a deck chair and beach umrella, and buy a softdrinks, icecream and fruit.

As the river Manavgat is abounding with fish,
flocks of water birds are presented there. It's understandable, lots of food - fishes, and as the traffic on the river is quite busy, turists throw some food from the deck too.

Suddenly someone called out: T u r t l e s !!! People began to move towards the deck's fence with their cameras. Yes, we were lucky; a small group of turtles scrambled over the rocks peering out of the water.

During our slow river navigation we admired beauties of landscape passing by. A Mosque in the photo, with four minarets is seen from everywhere. I don't know the name, but you'll agree, it's fascinating.
