We spent many a evening in this lovely bar. The owners and staff were very very friendly. The food there was great had fish and chips one night which was really good, best fish and chips in Side. Great place to watch the footy as it has plenty of TV's plus a large screen. They also have a childrens area downstairs. i would defiantly recommend this bar so it is worth a visit
Favorite Dish: All the food we had there was delicious but the fish and chips was the best. It was like eating food from home.

We almost got caught out here but our bill only came to 112, still double what we paid anywhere else but not as bad as it could have been. We thought the place looked great and even thought the guy in the next restaurant tried to warn us we thought he was just trying to get us in his restaurant. We wanted the large langoustine and they said it was 15 Lire a 100grammes. We picked it up and we thought it weighed no more than 250/300 grammes but when the weighed it they said it was 450grammes and would cost around 65 lire. We said we did not want it and eventually they said 45 lire so for that we tried it. It was disappointing.
Just something we learnt about Testi kebabs from the next restaurant going towards the Temple. I gather that in a reputable restaurant you have to order this two hours in advance as that's how long it takes to cook propertly in the pot in the oven. If you can order it and it comes immediately it's not the real thing. I assume they just cook the stew in a pan and when someone orders it they bung it in the pot, seal it with pastry and give it a few minutes in the oven. This is gather is what the Temple restaurant do and then charge you a fortune for this slow cooked dish. We left this restaurant with a bad taste in our mouth and did not come back to the harbour again as we just felt we were going to get ripped off every time. For great food, service, fun and value, try Dalgic right on the other side of the harbour on the beach. We spent our daytimes and some evenings there and were never disappointed or ripped off.

Address: Just before the Temple in the old harbour
Not the grandest restaurant in Side but certainly one of the best for food, service and prices. Lovely home made bread and butter, excellent sea bass baked in the oven and one of the few places you can get an alternative potato dish to chips. They usually do roast potatos with their dishes. Also very nice mezes. The great things about this restaurant are good food, they don't hassle you, the prices are fair and they are wonderful with your kids. On average we paid 60/70 turkish lira for a two course meal with main fish course for two with wine and drinks, At the harbour we paid 112 turkish lira for the same.
The owners and staff were really lovely people and now they have the garden open it's nice to sit out there in the evening. There is a live Turkish music bar across the road so you often get the benefit of live music whilst you eat. Owner is Sali and he speaks very good english. It is located on the road down to the other beach. (not the harbour) The only way I can direct is say you are standing with your back to the Tourist information building on the main road above the harbour on the way to Old Side. turn left as if going to old Side but take the next turning on the right going down to the beach. The Hamsikoy and Norden restaurants are on the corner of this road. Zumrut is about 60 yds down on the right.
Favorite Dish: Baked Sea Bass with salad and roast potatos was fab but home made butter was a real treat also. Turkish Pide (Pizza) also very good.

Lovely situation right by the ruins but don't be fooled by the atmospheric look of the place. They will rip you off at the first opportunity. The food was average and they charged 130 lira for the Testi, a local speciality. You can get this anywhere else in town for about 40 lira. The whole of the menu is overpriced. For starters and the testi for two, with no alcohol, we were charged 210 lira. The most we had paid anywhere else was 60 lira and the most you should be paying is about 70 - 80 lira somewhere else including local alcohol. They didn't even have the local oven bread, tasty flat bread, only normal bread.
We were not the only ones who paid this outragous price, two other couples staying in the same hotel were also caught out by the good looks of the restaurant. Be warned and do not agree to anything until you know the price!!

The döner they prepare is simply delicious, if you like to eat Döner, you'd like Döner with garlic and with sauces much more! Otherwise, the restaurants have no special ambience or something, anyway you have the ambience in your hand :)

Since we had excellent breakfast and dinner included in our package we did not often feel the need to eat more than just a few snacks at lunchtime but we found this restaurant - close to our bungalow - a reasonably priced place with good food.
Favorite Dish: Fish and seafood are surprisingly little appearing on the menues of the restaurants here and this in a country touching three seas. And even more surprising - the most frequently offered fish is the trout, a fish everywhere in the world coming from freshwater fish farming...

I found the Turkish cruising delightful. Anywhere we ate it was fresh, spicy and always a combination of lots of meat and vegetables. Garlic is part of the cuisine as much as peppers and other spices.
