    Manavgat Waterfall

The Managat waterfall on the Manavgat river lies 3km north of the town of Manavgat, itself a short distance inland from Side. The height is only a few metres but the river is impressively wide at this point and the flow is powerful as it foams over the rocks. There is a riverside cafe and the usual tourist trinkets for sale around the entrance. From Side, there are a number of ways to get here - by boat, minibus or by hiring a scooter for example.

  • Manavgat market

    by SusanT42 Written Sep 9, 2014

My daughter is on holiday in Antalya and visited this market yesterday with her boyfriend, they both initially enjoyed the market. My daughter is very pretty with long blonde hair and is slim, she only left her boyfriends side once to visit a separate stall and it only lasted about 15 minutes. When he returned someone had stamped a large barcode in ink on her shoulder(she was wearing a strappy vest, not too revealing)she did not feel anything and nobody approached her.She did not leave his side after that and I was wondering if anyone could tell me if they had heard or encountered this before and inform me what she was being singled out for or was it just a joke.

    Not exactly spectacular...
Anyway a lot of tourists come to see the waterfall. A pic-nic place , some restaurants and of course some shops with everything tourist are buying...

And yes that almost makes it a cosy place.

A small entrance fee is charged.

A nice place to stop by , take some pictures , have a drink... And maybe have dinner meanwhile the waterfall is tumbling under you. (they sort of build a terrace and a dam to make that happen)

Manavgat Þelale (Manavgat waterfalls), a beauty spot much favoured by Turkish as well as foreign visitors. Here under the pine trees, it is possible to enjoy an excellent lunch of freshly grilled trout washed down by a dry white wine. After swimming in the warm sea it was nice to feel some cold water. It’s not allowed to swim there.

Along the East of Side one reaches the waterfalls of Manavgat. Sadly though that when I was there the water was high and most of the river and platforms were flooded, yet it was quiet pretty to see.
