    Use the underpass

    Not handicap friendly, though.

Crossing Ataturk Caddesi is a risky proposition. The 5-lane one-way street does not have any trafffic crossing that curtail speeding. Coupled with Turkish driving skills, it's a recipe for disaster.

Avoid one by using the pedestrian underpasses along Ataturk. It may take some effort to use them (noticed they're not friendly to the handicap plus there are no escalators), but they definitely reduce the chances of you getting flattened by a speeding dolmus. Surely, you don't want to go home in a box.

Heavy traffic is one of the Bursa's problems which must be solved. Be very careful when you want to cross roads without using subways... Using subways is highly recommended to protect your life.
