Nice scenery from Canakkale to Izmir
I took the Bus from Canakkale to Izmir, a 6 hour trip. Sitting on the opposite side to the Driver in a window seat, I saw some beautiful views of the Dardenelles. I could see Sehitler Abidesi Turkish Memorial on the Gallipoli Peninsula. This is not that far out of Canakkale, so have your camera ready. The Bus climbs and winds its way around a Mountain edge, the views are lovely, then we went along the edge of the Ocean. Saw herds of Cows, flocks of Sheep, Horse & plough, and Women working in the fields. Passed through small towns and saw more rugged Mountains. It was a nice, scenic trip.Cost in May 2009 was 33 t/l with the Truva Bus company.Ticket office next to Canakkale ferry teminal.Buses depart hourly, but check because of "season."
