Island consist of 10 villages and the center. The old Villages are Kaleköy, Eski Bademli,Yeni Bademli, Zeytinliköy, Tepeköy, Dereköy ve Uðurlu. Most of them burriedi nto silence nowadays but you can explore these villages. It is an unforgetable experience.

OK so it isn't the best castle in the world but it gives you some nice views across the surrounding coastline, bay and valley.
As far as I can find out, the castle! (rubble more like) is of Genoese origin and apart from the towers, some looking precarious, there is precious little else.
there are four villages under the protection of minister of culture as Tepekoy,zeytinlikoy,eski bademli koyu,derekoy.In Tepekoy you can find the old houses,village square,café and,its church.you should try the turkish caffe at Barba Yorgos place.
Is the furhest west point of Turkey-Ince Burun(ince cape)so it has an island which has a wonderful scenery because of the sunset.It is also possible to have a pleusure of blue sea on Aydincik,Yuvali,Yildizkoy,Ugurlu and Gizlikoy naturel beaches.The coast between Kalekoy and Kuzulimani has been accepted as "National Underwater Park by TUDAV.
one of the lakes is salt lake!It has been reported by the scientists that the density of sulfur in Salt lake aournd Aydincik during the summer season helps for those who have rheumatic,calcinois and proriasis illnesses.
The name Schinoudi(greek name) probably came from the fact that the wet valley in which the settlement developed when people began moving from the coast inland to escape pirates By 1964, the Derekoy was a prosperous village, the largest in Turkey with 1950 houses and about 3000 people . Today there are no more than 40 people
Yenimahalle is located on the east side of the island and about 500 - 600 meters
from Merkez and was a separate village In 1970 the Turkish government build
75 identical houses and in 1990 800 more houses were build connecting the village
with the capital of the island
Kalekoy is located 4 kilometres from Merkez and 3 km from the nearby village Eski Bademli .Famous for its Byzantine castle that dominated the top of the hill where there is the village, which was the oldest of the island and until the last century the capital. In the eastern tower of the castle is an ancient marble according to the inscription of the fortress was restored in 1442 .It also has a beautiful port with many restaurants
Tepekoy was founded in the Ottoman Empire, around 1620, by a monk that managed to unite Imvriots to react against the Metropolitan Athanasios A champion of Catholicism. The cathedral of Tepekoy is dedicated to the Annunciation of Virgin Mary, celebrating the fifteenth of August in memory of this event.It is located in the north of the island
Zeytinli is the oldest village of the island. At the entrance of the village stands the ruins of the elementary school that was destroyed by fire in the center of the village, there are some nice cafes.
Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I of Constantinople, was born there
Visit the old mosque in Merkez the oldest and first in Gokceada that
is more than 200 years old since the Ottoman period.
Also don’t forget to visit the mosque
that is located a little farther in Yenimahalle
Is another village of Gokceada that is located on the west side of the island is Ugurlu.The village is pretty small and most of the residents there work as farmers If you get though the village and turn right it will lead you to a wonderful sandy beach just next to Gizli Liman
There is the ruins of an old Castle on Kalekoy (Castle Village). If you go behind the Castle, you will see a wonderful sea view and if you look from in front of it you will see the view of island.
