There are many places around sultanahmet to enjoy some nargileh. And when in Turkey, do as the Turks right? Try some nargileh, it is quite fun. Ask the waiter to demonstrate some tricks for you, chances are he's a nargileh pro, and might have some cool things to show you!

NARGILE (Hookah)(WaterPipe)
One of the oldest and deep rooted traditions in Turkey is the Nargile (Hookah), with both men and women finding great pleasure in smoking the waterpipe. The nargile started a whole new culture which endured for many, many years. Even today the nargile gives enjoyment to a special breed of smokers.
The nargile itself consists of 4 pieces which are as follows: Agizlik (mouthpiece), Lüle (the top of the nargile), Marpuç (the tube) and the Gövde (the body of the pipe which is filled with water). All pieces of the pipe were produced by special craftsmen, who were named after the pece they produced. Even today, the areas where these craftsmen used to concentrate are called by these names, such as 'Marpuççular.'
There r many choices for you in for nargile such as just 'tönbeki'(the hardest),apple flavoured, melon flavoured, strawberry flavoured. etc...

There are strict rules and etiquette surrounding nargile smoking. For example, you are never supposed to debase the higher art of nargile smoking by lighting a cigarette on the coals. Also, never rest the nargile on a height - it should always be on the floor.
