I never seen such kind of restaurant in my life ..yes I saw some japanese restaurant where the chief is cooking in front of you but this is unique.. Every visitor has his own table with his privare BBQ and you can order the meat that you want and you will enjoy of doing BBQ under the roof instead of open air... Try it this is definitely Turkish Creativity ))))

yildizlar by traveloturc Yildizlar ( means stars ) is a interesting restaurant because its is situated under the bridge of Galata and if you dont mind about the quality its a very nice spot to enjoy fish and seafood. Specially if you are tired of walking around the old city this can be a relaxation point for tourists ..

A bit off the main drag but well worth seeking out as the food here is very fresh and very tasty. We had lunch here and it seemed popular with locals and tourists alike although it was mostly locals. The pide was excellent; kind of a Turkish pizza...seasoned ground meat on fresh baked bread. The iskender kebap, ground pressed lamb, seasoned and grilled, was also very good. It was served over pieces of pide and accompanied by fresh yogurt and tomatoes. I also tried ayran, a watered-down yogurt drink. Interesting but not exactly my kind of refreshment.

Cezayir ( means Algerie) is one of the newest concept od bar/ restaurant/ cafe type. Very close to the taksim area French street or in the old time Cezayir street is the new alternative of Nevizade street.Restaurants are a little better with the quality and you can spend n evening or a night in this romantic atmosphere .Cezayir restaurant is one of the biggest and naturally expensive one .
Cezayir or Algerie is just the name and has nothing to do with the food of Algerie... This Turkish specialty you can find all over, from a small kiosk to the most fancy restaurant. My advice: try the ones from the family restaurants, they are the best. The one I like a lot it is the Tavuk Doner Kabab ( Tavuk means chicken ). Leave a Comment Theme: OtherComparison: about averageDirections: The place where I ate the best one, is located on Ordu Caddesi, 30-40m after you pass Laleli Camii, toward Aksary (the first family restaurant you meet ). The price is 1.000.000 TL

Çiçek Pasaji, Istiklal Caddesi 172, is a long narrow courtyard within a historic building. The courtyard is lined with restaurants offering good food (including seafood) for rather high prices, with unexpected mystery price mark-ups not unknown. It's the place many Turks bring first-time foreign visitors to Istanbul and its the starting place for many many youngsters to meet the Alcohol Theme: LocalPrice: US$31-40 » Currency ConverterComparison: about averageAddress: Istiklal Caddesi 17Directions: Istiklal caddesi

Çiya has three stores facing each other at Kadiköy Çarsisi(Bazaar) and open everyday between 11:00-22:00. Except Ramadan reservation is not required. The owner Musa Dagdeviren personally deals with the customers. You have a chance to see the salads, main courses and sweets at first and then choose accordingly. Moreover you can also prepare your own plate. There is no liquor service. The price is about 15-20 million TL/person
Şiveydiz, Şakiriye, Yuvarlama and Patlican Tatlisi (eggplant sweet) are worth trying. Bosphorus seen from Malta Kiosk by finecut Walking in Yildiz Park -(entrance on coast road between Besiktas and Ortakoy) -The Sultans private park, now open to the public, you may find two lovely buildings-Malta Kiosk and Cadir Kiosk. Both places have marvelous terraces. Also don't miss the elegant wooden Sale (Chalet) Kiosku inside the park which is a museum. At the Malta Kiosk (beautiful inside) there is a restaurant and a cafe with terrace. As I was told the restaurant is a dinning place for locals, mostly during the weekend. They have fine local cuisine at average prices, the restaurant being state owned. We served an interesting almond soup and mixed salads. Don't miss the desert, which of course is lovely everywhere in Turkey (baklava, rice pudding, pastries, halva etc). Leave a Comment

by nicolaitan Translated as " Famous Sultanahmet Kofte Restaurant ", this undistinguished looking restaurant ( except for the sign ) is indeed famous for its kofte, spiced ground lamb served as sausage-shaped meatballs grilled over charcoal. One enters a narrow corridor containing the open kitchen and ascends a narrow staircase to a large dining room covered in formica and linoleum. Service is fast and efficient. Kofte in Turkey are like hamburgers in the United States, and most tables seemed to have ordered them. We combined them with a shepherd's salad of cucumbers, onions, ?chili, and the great Turkish tomatoes and the kofte came with a side of piyaz, salad with white beans. No alcoholic beverages, but a wide selection of cold sodas as well as tea and coffee are available. The food was excellent, the prices very reasonable - had we not ordered bottled sodas, the total cost for two would have been no more than $11-12 US.
