this saying is proved to be true after Fenerbahce's consecutive wins against European teams in UEFA Champions League this season. Yellow canaries had won all 6 games against Belgium champions Anderlecht, Italian champions Inter, Russian champions CSKA Moskva, Netherlands champions PSV Eindhoven, UEFA Cup title holder Sevilla and Chelsea.

while travelling in Turkey, it would be a pity not to see the Republic Of Fenerbahce. you can get to Kadikoy by ferries from Kabatas, Karakoy or Eminonu; you can get there also by busses. in Kadikoy, it is really simle to find out where the "temple" is; it is enough just to ask someone who wears the uniform of Fenerbahce.

the stadium is the most modern and also the second largest one in Turkey. (the largest pne is also in Istanbul: Ataturk Olympic Stadium, but it is not used by any teams). the overall capacity is 52,000 people and it is ALWAYS full of enthusiastic Fenerbahce supporters.

it is a must for anyone who likes soccer a bit to experience the atmosphere of Kadikoy, and you will never ever forget it.

There is a plenty of capacity in Fenerbahce stadium and is quite noisy but there are times that 2500 fans make more voice than 47500 even game continiues tie. If you want to see big stadium with full of people you should go to Fenerbahce stadium. But if you want to see the greatest fans of the world whose holds world decibel record, you should visit Besiktas Inonu Stadium.

When in Istanbul, try and visit a football game of topteam Fenerbahçe, especially when they play one of the other local teams. The atmosphere at the huge SUKRU SARACOGLU Stadium is something I will never forget.

P.S. No offense intended to Galatasaray or Besiktas-fans ;-)

I don't necessarily like Fenerbahce Football team. But this stadium of theirs is a state of the art building under Istanbul/Turkey standarts. A must visit place for football fans all around the world.

Well, these comfortable seats might be a little hard to get unless you knew a friend like I do that has a VIP season-pass to these sections.. :)) The service -like everywhere else in Turkey- is unbeliavable. If you have power ($$) you are the king in Turkey!! There's a good looking waitress assigned to each of these VIP sections, and are constantly waiting for your orders of food and/or drinks. On the other hand if you are a real soccer fan, then you can't get into the game as much sitting in these VIP rooms and enjoying other pleasures..!

My dad is a big Fenerbahce fan. (He stayed out in the balcony most of the time to cheer and get into the game more. Fenerbahce won the game by 3-2 over Trabzon so 40,000 fans were happy in the stadium at the end of the day. It was a great game to watch in such a luxurious way.

You're better off going there as early as possible. A typical Fenerbahce game will start around 7:00pm. You can buy tickets from www.biletix.com. They closed down the Fenerium souvenier shop (where they sell items related with Fenerbahce) around 5:30pm. My US credit cards did not work, so you might want to bring cash. They did accept $$ though.
