Trams, busses and taxis........... transportation is not a problem for moving around Istanbul, but there is always heavy rush on the roads.
There are two "nostalgic" tramlines in Istanbul. One is going up and down Istiklal Caddesi and the other is going in a circle around Kadiköy and Moda on the Asian side.
From Sirkeci there are ferrys (carferrys) to Harem about every half an hour. The crossing takes 15 minutes and costs
1 000 000 TL. The otogar is just next to where the ferry stops.
Theres a large Ferry transportation system in Istanbul.Everywhere on the costal areas are connected wth these large or smaller ferries named"Vapour".
In 2004 many times we faced wth such weather conditions in Istanbul but it provides us many romantic scenes like this one on Beyoglu tram line.
a scene from 2004 winter.The snow storm stopped the tram for nearly 2 hours.Kadikoy is at Asian side of the city and has a heritage tram line like Beyoglu in European side.
You must be a very well trained sportsman to use this way of transportation especially during winter time!
This is the way of tourists' transportation at Prince's and Chalki Island. You can take the "long" or the "short" ride and the driver will show you around.
well...i was very surprised about taxi prices here and the fact that i wasnt robbed even once i mean in prices i say... good!
its very easy to use buses here, just like in other city else where in the world.
buy the ticket before you go in the bus or you can also buy it inside to the driver.
