    Almost all guide books have this librarys picture.. Everything about ephesus starts with this picture....

    But it deserves its place.. Probably one of the best preserved ancient ruins.. So ?uch historical and an architectural success..

    During one of my visits, there was a classic music concert just in front of the library.. that was great..

    Celsus library at the end of Curates street dates back from the 2nd century AD and was built as a monumental tomb by Celsus’s son. The library has a two-storeyed façade and a single large hall inside. There are several statues in the niches symbolizing the virtues of Celsus: wisdom, knowledge, destiny and virtue.

    It's a long way down the main roads, lined with the ruins of several buildings that your guide will describe in detail. But it all ends facing the library, whose facade is the best preserved of all, and the most harmonious. An excelent final to the historical visit.
