This is an important thing to remember before you enter Ephesus, there are no toilets on this site, don't ask me why hehehehehehehe, just make sure you go before you enter, it takes a good 4 hours walking round Ephesus. Oh and there are no bushes to go behind either, so you can forget that idea hehehehehehe Leave a Comment

Please take it easy going round Ephesus, take plenty of drink, and if possible take a brolly to shade you from the sun. There are no shops on the site to buy drinks and there is very little shade, and with the temp often reaching over 140 degrees this can be very dangerous, so take care out there Leave a Comment

On your way round Ephesus you may come across a photographer taking photos of you,so politely tell him to bugger off, because he will then ask you for money hahahahahahaha. Why the hell would anyone want to pay for a photo when he can see you are taking photos with your own camera Leave a Comment

Ephesus Can Get Crowded by dlytle As you can see from the picture, Ephesus draws a big crowd during the normal tourist season. Try to visit Ephesus in the Spring or Fall instead of during the high summer when so many folks are on vacation or holiday. If possible, find out when the big cruise ships are visiting Kusadasi because a goodly portion of their passengers are going to make the trip to Ephesus. If you know you can avoid them. Even when it is busy it is splendid - but think about the quality of your pictures and the ability to see everything Ephesus has to offer if there aren't hundreds and hundreds of other tourists in your way. The Crowds at Ephesus! by Paul2001 Let's get one thing clear about Ephesus. You will not be alone. This is not the place to visit if you have a problem with crowds. I had hoped to avoid the mass of bus tourgroups that visit Ephesus from Kusadasi by arriving at the gates at 9am sharp. No such luck. The hordes of tourists had already arrived. What this means is that if you want to take any shots of important monuments free of crowds then you have to be very patient. Fortunately I am but I did have to take this shot of a bus group just to show you what I mean. Leave a Comment

The ruins of Ephesus are about 2 km long and generally take about 1-3 hours to tour depending upon how quickly you rush through and whether or not you tour the terrace houses (extra fee). Wear comfortable clothes and shoes and use sunscreen, as there is very little shade in certain areas of the ruins. Also, there are no concession stands inside the ruins after you enter the gates. BRING WATER! You will want it after an hour or so of walking in the heat. Leave a Comment

Ephesus - Arcadian Avenue by Kuznetsov_Sergey I’ve seen this amusing warning sign in Ephesus. It must have been meant: don’t climb up the hill where the Great Theatre is located or you may fall down the Arcadian Avenue!

DRY CONDITIONS by whitecliff62 Ephesus has a no smoking policy on the site, the ground is so dry in the summer, any disgarded fagg end could set the whole place alight Leave a Comment

Ruins of Ephesus by guell I don't know if the stones in this picture have been properly secured, but I would't count on it. Be careful where you walk or you might get bonked in the head! Leave a Comment
