KIZLARAGASI HAN:
There are many shop sells antiques, old stuff, second hand etc.
Anatolian and Ottoman Antiques varying from chests made of mahogany, walnut and pine, old copper kitchen utensils, terracottas, wooden boxes, to unique embroderies made with gold or colored threads. Antique money, watch, comb cases and purses made of very fine work with silk thread which is achieved by doing crochet but by using a needle instead of a crochet hook plus other exquisite items.
What to buy: The busiest shopping area is the Kemeralti Streets, which still retain a 19th century atmosphere of pull-down shutters, thresholds of the doors, low ceilings and old briquettes. On both sides of Anafartalar Caddesi is the lively atmosphere of the street vendors, bronze workers and fishermen, and Fevzipasa Bulvari which is famous for its leather garments. In contrast to the traditional and busy old market, Alsacak has modern boutiques and Cankaya has a huge shopping centre much.

Lots of little shops near the harbor
What to buy: Jewelery (mostly gold and silver) can be bought from an large ammount of shops scattered on the narrow streets that go to the harbor. The variety of the jewelery is great, the vendors are very polite and know many languages. Don 't forget to haggle or you'll pay a much larger sum than they are prepared to accept.

The bazaar is a great place to shop, and this is coming from someone who does not enjoy shopping! I love the sights and sounds, and the people are very interesting.
The thing that caught me by surprise was that just about every shopkeeper spoke fluent Greek. I would walk by minding my own business and someone would come out and start speaking Greek to me trying to persuade me to come into their store. At least for me, it made the language barrier thing much easier.
What to buy: I came home with some good deals on leather goods, water pipes, and jewelry.
What to pay: There is only 1 rule - Bargain as much as possible! You can get things at very good prices.

In all my trips to Izmir , i was always visited this shop with ceramics. It is in the closed Kislaragasi han. They are handmade and handpainted. Perfect choice for presents. I have whole collection of them!

This shop is situated also in Kizlaragasi han and i found some very interesting old things from old Izmir, from 1922 and before, when Greeks were leaving there. I found old greek books and some very nice pieces which always will remind the history of Smirna (Izmir).

Address: small shop with oldl things inside the old Bazzar
One of the most important shopping center in Izmir is around this street in Karsiyaka area. There are many small shops about men, women and child clothes, shoes, jewelry, food, drink etc. So this street is always crowded.
