I took a ferry from Chios to Cesme, then a bus from Cesme to Izmir. This is very simple. Several buses run between the cities every day. The ride takes about an hour.

Opened in 1999 there is 1 line for now but it is effective for connecting the city center and sea ferrys to train stations and main suburbs.
