If you visit izmir, you shouldn't miss watching the sunset in kordon while enjoying your drink... especially in spring and summer. in kordon there are lots of cafes, and bars, where you can find almost all kinds of drinks, including famous world beers. no special dressing code required.
above mentioned places are located in alsancak and bornova. These places are mostly the same. You can enjoy, again a vast variety of drinks, while listening to live rock 'n roll. No special dressing code is required.
Personally i don't like electronic music and dancing, however if you are into that kind of stuff and if you visit izmir, alsancak is the best place for you. There are several night clubs in alsancak like neo, loop, etc... where you can enjoy your drink while dancing. There is a large variety of choices of drinks from local drinks lkie raki to world wide famous drinks like whisky. briefly you can have whatever you like to drink. entrance fee to such places is about 15$ including one free local drink. There is no specific dressing code required.
