Museum of Thökely Imre at Izmit

The Turkish Hungarian Friendship Society presented by Mr. Ertunç Baykal opened last November 2008 a museum dedicated to Thökely Imre. The Culture Ministers of Hungary and Turkey opened the museum to public among a distinguished publicum from Hungary and Turkey. Turkish Hungarian Friendship Society in Ankara was presented by Mr. Tosun Saral and Mr. Dursun Ayan.

Name of this park can be translated as " coast of wonderland ". It contains statues of cartoon characters, playground for kids, lots of cafés and small shops, little thrill park and an area for having picnic.You can also take a boat trip from here to other coast of the gulf.

Enjoying the Gulf

The city was founded around the gulf. And the gulf is surrounded by mountains. Also the guf is home to heavy ship traffic. This gives a very beautiful view, wheather you are enjoying the many parks near the coast or having a picnic in the greens of mountains. Watching the all size of ships to slowly sail between two land masses and with the mountains giving a frame to the horizon, it is a must see view both during the day and night.For traveling across the gulf, you have two options; modern and fast sea buses or old style boats. I suggest to take the boat trip, it takes less than hour. First you can enjoy the sound of waves and wind on the deck and when you get cold enough, you can sit inside, next to window and order a tea.
