Because of the winds that pick up in the afternoons Bitez has become one of the leading windsurfing schools in europe. You can book a coarse of leasons or just have one go at it like i did, but i spent more time falling in the water than i did actually surfing hahahaha so its a good idea to let someone teach you how do do it properly first, otherwise you will look like me (very silly).

Betez is well known in turkey for being a watersports haven and its got the best windsurfing school in the area. This was the first time i had tried paraglding and i loved every min of it, the views up there was fantastic and you could see all off Bitez, Bodrum, and Gumbet. I wish i had taken my camera up with me, never mind i will try it at marmaris next year.
Equipment: All equipment including scuba gear can be rented from the beach or take a few windsurfing lessons.

This was one of the main focuses of our visit (the other being a few days' peace & quiet for me). I wanted an activity for my 14 y/o son which would be fun and keep him active, and as my friend used to be a keen windsurfer it seemed ideal.
Turned out to be spot on - they both loved it, and that helped contribute to the peace & quiet I needed!
Its not what an expert would want, but for beginners and intermediates it seemed to be fun.
Not much wind in the morning, which is mostly when they give lessons to beginners, and it usually strengthens early afternoon.
My son was happy with the teaching (in excellent English) and my friend certainly thought the guy was good.
Equipment: Boards and sails can be rented (30 ytl p/h basic, with discounts available).
Anything else - shoes etc - bring yourself.

There are plenty of fish to be caught in the sea around Bitez, and these fisherman were on this jetty every morning catching small fish, but im sure there must be fishing trips available from the harbour at Bodrum
