I tried its speciality last year. One of my colleagues recommended me that restaurant and its magic meal. Its antique view inside and lovely design outside give you the peace of a beautiful port environment.

Favorite Dish: Liman Koftesi-Speciality of the restaurant.
Meatballs served with tomato sauce, yoghurt and butter. Healthy and delicious way for a good start to evening...

    Cafe de Columbia: Meaty Choice

by Lyndra Updated Apr 4, 2011

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

I had a couple of smashing meals at this steak restuarant a while ago and just never gor round to putting a tip on VT. Now that I am catching up with myself the tip is here!
This is a lovely open air restaurant in Gumbet that is a meat eaters paradise. The smell of meat cooking practically makes you salivate. The staff are helpful and welcoming and this restaurat is usually very busy with tourists.
Their meat is good quality - something they profess on their promotional material but it is true, and it will be cooked to your requirements not the chefs which makes a nice change. Portions are generous and side orders add to the overall value of the meal.
Prices are very reasonable. Place is very clean. OK drink selection.
    Definitely worth a try :o)

Alp Kaptan: Great service and tasty food!

by Lyndra Updated Apr 4, 2011

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

This is a delightful restaurant! It is situated at the top of a hill (quite a trek to get up there) but is certainly worth the effort as the food is very good. Lovely turkish specialities, some european foods and some fast food mean there is a good choice for all. The staff are generally great (except the little annoyance of trying to sell you necklaces while you are eating - the turkish way I'm afraid) and the manager is very interesting to talk to.

Favorite Dish: Their Chicken Coketme (sorry for the bad spelling!!) is a signature dish and they do a wonderful traditional Sunday Lunch which really does taste as if you were in the UK - it's huge and tasty (you need to book this in advance because it is so popular)

Divan at Divan Palmira, Turkbuku: al fresco lunch, ice cream and sweets

by Alikatt Updated Apr 4, 2011

The place has huge parasols and nice cushioned chairs. Right by the water, perfect for al fresco dining and people watching. I have had hamburgers, salads, kofte and kebabs there for lunch (not at one time of course) so it is the lunch spot for me. They also offer delectable ice cream flavors.

Favorite Dish: Hambuger is just the way I like it - fresh from the grill, tender and juicy and not overly cooked. I also like their mixed salad with seasoned Turkish meats (again fresh from the grill). Indulged in a few ice cream scoops as well.

    Friendly Restaurant: Friendly Restaurant

by Fen Updated Apr 4, 2011

    4.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

The staff are very "friendly" here (no pun intended!) but they really were. The service and the food was excellent and its another restaurant in Turgutreis that i would recommend.

Favorite Dish: My favourite dish was some meat which was wrapped up in cheese something else. I'll have to find out what the dish was called. :-)

Kocadon Restaurant: Excellent Ambience, Less Excellent Food...

by Lyndra Written Feb 28, 2010

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

The Kocadon Restaurant is set in a beautiful location on Bodrum Marina (Just opposite the Marina itself). The restaurant is set in a courtyard behind traditional Bodrum houses. The tables are set among overhanging trees, absolutely stunning.
The service is excellent, the maitre'd was well spoken and knowledgeable. The food was delivered to the tables quickly and was good quality but the menu is limited as is the wine choice. The Turks are still developing an acquaintance with a wine menu. Food here has limited side options and so the Stroganoff that I ordered was a protein overload. My companions who ate meat and fish dishes also agreed that some potato or carb side dish would have complemented the meal well.
The only starter available is a buffet of Turkish meze which can be an acquired taste if you do not like them. I would not eat here again but am very glad that I tried it.

Favorite Dish: No favourite dish, just loved the feel of the place and it's location.

The Marmara Hotel, Bodrum: Glorious food, glorious view!

by Lyndra Written Feb 25, 2010

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

The Marmara hotel is a magnificent night out! The hotel is positioned high above Bodrum and a such has a superb view of the bay and the mountains on the way towards Yalikavak.
Ideally you need to book to eat here and casual dress just wouldn't do...Super service, super ambience, views to die for, toilets that are beautiful - clean and a piece of art on their own.
The menu is easy to understand and is classical Turkish food with a 5 star twist. Excellently presented, cooked to perfection and served by well trained staff who are knowledgeable about the food and wine.
A must try restaurant for anyone who loves quality food served in special surroundings...

Waffle Club at the Oasis Shopping Center: Don't miss the waffles!

by laureenofscotland Written Jan 12, 2010

If you are tired, exhausted after your shopping or you need to refresh, do not hesitate to go to the Waffle Club in the Oasis Shopping Center in Bodrum. You will eat fantastic waffles with chocolate, ice-cream of different sorts, fruits and nuts.
Two wonderful women (also speaking French) will welcome you.
Do not forget also either the national tea or Turkish coffee.
    It is a delight!

Favorite Dish: It is not my favourite dish, however it was a so nice desert (or you may have it as main dish) and the ambiance was so friendly, it is an oasis!

Cafe at St Peter's Castle: Dine at The Castle

by Ekaterinburg Updated May 17, 2009

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

If you're in Bodrum on a Monday and the castle is closed, you can still get into the courtyard if you tell the security guard you want to eat at the cafe. We'd been tipped off about this as a great place for a coffee and weren't disappointed. The courtyard is the kind of place you'll love to linger in, surrounded on all sides by castle walls and shaded by tall, elegant trees. There are several pillars and other archeological remains scattered around and small birds perch on the edge of your chair as you eat. We came in just for the atmosphere but when we saw the remarkably cheap prices, decided to have lunch and take time to soak up the ambience

Favorite Dish: The food here is basic - it's just a cafe. We had burgers, chips and coffees which were tasty and very welcome as we hadn't eaten since breakfast. For a quick snack in awesome surroundings,, you won't do better than this

Perfect location of the cafe at the castle Enjoying the surroundings

ANNALIVIA Restaurant and Bar: Irish Owned Restaurant is the Best in Gumbet

by Ekaterinburg Updated May 17, 2009

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Please don't confuse ANNALIVA with an Irish pub. It's an Irish owned and managed restaurant in Gumbet with the best food for miles around. If you come in a taxi from anywhere in Bodrum, Gumbet or Bitez, the restaurant will pay your taxi fare when you arrive. The menu is extensive and you'll find all the Turkish favourites as well as loads of other European specialities. Maria, the Irish proprietress is married to a Turkish man and has been living in Gumbet for 18 years. She welcomes everyone personally and during the evening you will see her chatting at every table. This is largely because she has so many clients who return night after night and year after year but new customers get an extra special welcome. She takes such pleasure in her work that it's impossible not to be charmed by her and of course her delicious food. We ate here twice and had steaks and lamb kebabs. Both were top classs. The salads, which come in homemade pastry cases are huge and mouthwatering and the deserts to die for . Below, I will desribe the ANNALIVIA special but please look also at the other photos, which include the orgasmic chocolate souffle. Despite such fantastic food, personal attention and free taxis, ANNALIVIA is not that expensive. Three courses with wine and other drinks can be had for 50 Euro. Incredible value and a not-to-be-missed dining experience

Favorite Dish: The ANNALIVIA special is the most outstanding dish to be had here. It consists of slices of fillet steak on a bed of grilled potatos, covered with mushroom sauce and accompanied by mushrooms, huge potato wedges and salad. What more can I say ? It's absolutely divine.

We also had Caesar and Greek salads, baked lemon chese cake and chocolate soffle. The photos are here, judge for yourself.
