In winter time as far as I know you can find very limited direct flights from Europe. If you are flying from Istanbul check the following airlines for the timetable ;
Turkish Airlines : Everyday
www.thy.com.tr
Atlas Jet : Everyday
www.atlasjet.com
Onur Air
www.onurair.com.tr
Pegasus (from Sabiha Gokcen Airport to Bodrum )

Or you can fly to Kos Island (Greece) from Europe & get a ferry from Kos to Bodrum. In the summer there are ferries twice a day. In winter 3 times a week. Journey takes around 1:30 - 2 hours depending on the sped of the ferry.

Two summers ago we were unfortunate to travel to Bodrum using Onur Air and I can say without contradiction that it was the worst flight experience of my life.
WE booked our holiday as a package to save money and ended up on this airline. From its late arrival to the airport (and our subsequent horror when we realised what airline our travel operator had so cleverly hidden from me!!), the way we were shunted on board into the smallest seats with minimal leg room, the first in flight meal that I couldn't even try as it looked and smelled so awful, the total disregard of customer needs by the cabin crew who were more worried about their make up than their jobs...
I could go on but you get the idea I think. The best part of the flight was when we reached stand at Bodrum airport and I knew I could get off. The worst part...knowing that 4 weeks later we had to return on the same airline.
This airline has an interesting record but I made a decision to never use this company again and that is always the first question I ask now.

If you arrive in Bodrum airport on your own without pre-arranged transportation through a tour company, expect to pay a lot to get to your hotel. Havas does run busses from the airport, but if you have 3 or 4 people it is just as “cheap” to take a taxi. In 2006, a taxi from the airport to our hotel in Gumbet cost us 60 USD.

Although the Bodrum airport is a relatively new one - the facilities are excellent. A widened highway between Bodrum and the airport lets you enjoy now the only 30 minutes drive.
HAVAS is a bus service from the airport to the center of Bodrum - to the "Otogar" (Turkish for bus station)

Bodrum airport is a relatively new one and the facilities are excellent. A spacious international terminal with a few Cafes and Bars. There is also a shop open 24hrs which is very handy for buying phone cards, especially when your mobile phone network doesn't work straight away.

The nearest international airport is Bodrum airport, 40km away from the town. Airport is new and very nice. Daily flights to Istanbul are availavble and during the season there are direct charter flights from all major European cities.

As there is not enough plain near bodrum, for many years there was no airport nearby.. Small airport nearby was too far to reply the demand.. And many charter flights were flying to Izmir, which is 250 km away..
In the year 2000, new Bodrum airport has started for operation. The airport is 40 km away from Bodrum town center. The new airport is hosting some 2- 2,5 millon tourists in a year. And especially in summer time it is over crowded..
There is no regular bus or train connection from the airport to Bodrum. There are Coaches of Havas, but they operate in paralel hours with the THY flights.. So if your flight lands, when there is no Turkish airlines Flight, you need to take a taxi from the airport..
Turkish Airlines have direct flights to Istanbul and there are many charter companies flying in summer time..

Using air transportation will be the most reasonable way for going to Bodrum from Europe. Despite relatively good road conditions in western regions of Turkey, a problem-free travel to Bodrum requires some comfort.
There are regular flights from Istanbul(domestic) daily and charters from many European airports.
