  • Have A Turkish Bath

The old Turkish Bath (Hamman) is situated near the bustling market. An hour or more of cleansing and massage is a great way to enjoy this age old tradition. 2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

In the harbour at Datca there is an open air theatre which has nice views over the sea front areas. Look out for any events here as its a great venue.
The building also houses the public WCs and Showers for use in the day at a small charge.(You may need to run with style along the harbour front if you don't plan ahead.) There is a fine penalty for if you use the sea to dump anything from your boat, which is good as its nice to swim in the clear blue water and see the fish.

Datca Warnings and Dangers

  • Swimming: danger or not?

Although in the burning sun all you need is a good bath in the sea, you should take good care because in Knidos everything is genuine. If you are on the shore you should be careful with the stones (there is no sandy beach) and in the water seems to be sea hedgehogs.

  • Sun burning

For the ones who don't like the heat, Turkey is not the country to visit in August.Although in Knidos you can feel the cooling sea breeze that obviously diminishes the effects of the intense heat, it’s still so hot in August. So don't forget the sun glasses, a hat and the sun protection lotion.

The Aphrodite of Cnidus was one of the most famous works of the ancient Greek sculptor Praxiteles of Athens (4th century BC). Variants of the Venus Pudica (suggesting an action to cover the breasts) are the...
