    (don't remember): Saklikent gorge restaurant

by Aurorae Written Oct 25, 2004

    4.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

This is the only restaurant at Saklikent, and it is extremely beautiful and enjoyable! In a very cozy atmosphere you'll be served delicious meals (I suggest trouts), and observe the ducks floating around waiting for a bite and left overs. ;) All the "tables" are just on the river, and everything is so colourful and nice.

Since we had food at the hotel, I didn´t visit any restaurants, but this one caught my eye. It´s right above Ölüdeniz beach, in the rocks and there is a spectacular view over the beach and lagoon from there. i´ve heard from people that it offers great seafood and the prices are a bit high, but well worthwhile!
The restaurant is just above this beach spot.

I'm afraid the only way to reach this restaurant would be by the sea...Simply throw your anchor in the bay and a guy from the restaurant will pick you up with his dingy...
You can also spend the night there, it should be really quiet unless some crazy crew start partying (as we did ;-)

  • Arena Restaurant by the harbour: Some restaurants are great & some are just special

by ArtemisiaMartin Written Jun 7, 2007

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

The Arena with it's stunning balcony terrace which offers fabulous views of Fethiye's marina and waterfront. There is always a warm welcome from Zaffer the Maitre D and the friendly local staff and a nice smart, but laid back atmosphere. You are OK if you dress in your holiday casuals but for evening visits you may feel more comfortable in smart casual dress. If you wish to visit over a weekend or holiday period it might be best to book in-advance or if you have a group of people. The restaurants caters well for children, for little eaters and for those who like to go the whole hog. Try their local specialities which can be simple, tasty and good value or their International specialities and in particular their seafood. Their prepared lobster is simply an experience in presentation and taste. The evening we chose, we started with starters of all kinds and had just enough time between courses to be ready but not rushed, for our main course. We couldn't manage a sweet and was left to relax chatting amongst our group, with no pressure to settle up and go. In fact without any prompting from our guests the staff brought to the table the most beautiful presentation of freshly prepared fruit, all delicately presented on a tiered display, at no cost. So even though we couldn't manage a sweet course, after sitting a while longer we tucked in and enjoyed. It was a lovely gesture that along with the complete evening has filled our memories of our holidays in Fethiye, with this new restaurant for 2006, with very happy memories. Thank you to Tony at Marina View for the recommendation. The restaurant owners also run one of the best restaurants in Kalkan. I think that might be worth a holiday there.

Favorite Dish: Their prepared lobster is simply an experience in presentation and taste. I do not need to go into any further detail, if seafood is your thing or traditional Turkish specialities then do not miss a highlight evening at the Arena.

  • Somine Kebap (Opposite Tansas): The best food in Fethiye - we think so!

by essexpauline Written Jul 12, 2007

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Our first visit (we've been a few times now) and the Turkish staff were very friendly and offered us a very warm welcome. We chose to dine outside on the terrace. A nice water fountain clouds any traffic nice from the road nearby. My husband is always one for inspecting kitchens and today was no exception. I opted for their steak whilst hubby went for the Doner Kebab with Yoghurt Sauce. The 3 kids had fish fingers & chips, spaghetti bolognaise & chicken wings with chips & baked beans.

Beer and soft drinks were very reasonably priced. Large Efes Beer just 2.5YTL and Cola, Fanta was 2YTL. The bread and pizzas are freshly cooked in a stone/clay oven and I have to say this in my opinion adds that extra class to any Turkish restaurant. So refreshing to see the bread and garlic butter are complimentary. Hubby and I selected a bottle of their house white from a very extensive list of wines ranging in price from 20YTL to 35YTL.

It was a nice suprise when the head waiter, Ramazan brought to our table a birthday cake for Kylie and everyone in the restaurant joined in with a Turkish/English rendition of Happy Birthday Kylie.

We learned that one of the waiting staff had gone into town to get the cake whilst we were eating our meal. They even had her name iced on the cake. Not bad eh. The owner insisted on not charging us for the cake despite our protests.

We rounded off the meal with a nice Turkish coffee and paid the bill. How much do you think? 77YTL or in sterling (at the time) 28 pounds.

So with a bottle of wine, 2 meat main courses and 3 childrens meals plus soft drinks and coffees a mere 5.50 a head.

We were told they are also opening during the winter months and we may well be tempted to spend our first Christmas holiday in Fethiye this year, providing they can come up with Cranberry Sauce and Parsnips but the kids insist....... NO brussell sprouts please!

Favorite Dish: Having been a few times, we've tried various menu options and none have disappointed. We would highly recommend anything from the kebab range and if that doesn't appeal you can't go wrong with the steaks or pizzas.

Nice view of the terrace Inside the restaurant Another view inside the restaurant Freshly baked pitta bread & pizzas..... yummy! Grill chef hard at work

Liman Pub: Hearty Meal and Cold Efes

by mabozer Written May 19, 2005

Liman Pub is in the city center and opposite to the martyr monument in the beauty of Fethiye Quay and Ugur Mumcu Park. The ones who want to reach our restaurant either from sea or land they can easily park their vehicles in the huge car park and come to our restaurant just across to the martyr monument. In Liman Pub you know you will always find a good hearty meal, cold Efes beer and smiling faces

Here, in the fish market, you go to the central market, choose and pay for your seafood. The vendors clean it and deliver it to the restaurant of your choice who then cook it for you and serve it up.

Wonderfully fresh seafood and great meals provided

The Park Restaurant: Dine at the quayside next to the yachts

This was the closest reataurant to our hotel (Yacht Plaza) so we tried it on the first night and went back twice more during our 10 day stay. Great selection of starters and main courses. Large lava bread and garlic/herb butter and coffee were always free. Fish was the most expensive item.
