It's literally the most beautiful beach i have ever been to. The water is still, warm, the beach is sandy and miniature pebbles, there are enormous quantities of pines, pam trees and olives all around, the colours of the sea are amazing...
There are several bars, toilettes, places to rent pedal boats, canoa and water sports cabin, also the beds and sunshade umbrellas are for rent - 3 million per piece!!!
Everything is so perfect, except for the sun that disappears quite soon (around 4.30 in October), behind the hill protecting the lagoon! But you can always pick your things up and move over to the other side of the beach. ;)
There are even ducks in the shade beside the water, in quiet corners!
Everything is so clean, neat and well kept.
To enter the lagoon, you have to pay the entrance fee of 2 million Turkish Liras (1 euro = 1,8 million, 1US$ = 1,5 million).
Here you can see it well from the air.
A wonderful lagoon and super touristy beaches.
Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of the lagoon itself since the boats are not allowed to enter anymore. We had to throw the anchor at the entrance an swim or take the dinghy to discover this awesome landscape...
If you've ever been in to a travel agent offering holidays to Turkey then you've probably seen pictures of Oludeniz. The colors of Oludeniz in the pictures could be attractive but it gets even crazier when you're there. To get to Oludeniz you'll need to get to Fethiye first, that's fairly easy from most cities and towns in Turkey. And from Fethiye take a minibus behind the post office, around 20 min you will be in this magnificent blue lagoon.
There is also a boat trip from Oludeniz and the boats take off from Belcekiz beach. This boat trip is one hour less than Fethiye-12 Islands trip and a little cheaper. You'll see other bays of Fethiye bay in this trip and also if the wind is not a problem you can also see Kelebekler Vadisi-Butterfly Valley.
As for me (I went both trips more than one) 12 Islands boat tour is more better.
When you walk through the Belcekiz beach you'll come to real oludeniz after you pass the foreland.Oludeniz is there like his name ''a sea without any waves;like a dead sea'' It is surrounded by the mountains and islands. The sea is warm and very pure. It's a pleasure to swim from Oludeniz beach to opposite coasts that is surrounded by the pine trees.
The beach is Olu Deniz main attraction. There is a small fee to get onto the beach, which when we were there was soooooo crowded and busy. My guess would be that it is like this most of the time!
The beach isnt sandy its shingle and the water is a beautiful turquoise colour from a distance and beautifully clear when you are there.
Its great for swimming and watersports.
I hated the town of Olu Deniz as its just so tacky and touristy - the beach is an ideal getaway!
Also called Blue Lagoon, Oludeniz is a resort village in Fethiye. It's one of the most popularly photographed beach with amazingly blue ocean and beach and most of the time lands on the top 5 beaches in the world.
Oludeniz is along the 500kms Lycian Way walk.
Less than half an hour dolmush ride from Fethiye town at TL4.
Beautiful town, enticing blue beach and spectacular views - Oludeniz is a must-see, must-swim, must-visit.
Fethiye reminds most of us of; ÖLÜDENIZ. Ölüdeniz consists of two parts: First part is Belcekiz or Belcegiz which lies too long through the bay to the lagoon. This part is the wavy part of Ölüdeniz. The second part is the real Ölüdeniz with the lagoon inside. This part is the calm and shallow part. To enter blue lagoon you must pay 4TL pp. From Fethiye it's about 45 min by minibus. I have been here many years ago , it was totally wild, so I got a little bit dissapointed to see this comercialized version. Also the beach was full of benches and there was not much space to walk on the beach. It's pity :(
If you go to the Dalaman region of Turkey Olu Deniz is a must, you have to go there and experience the natural beauty of the Mountains and the lovely turquoise sea, and also you have to vist the the Blue Lagoon! It really is a must!
I said.. "The colors of Oludeniz in the pictures could be attractive but it gets even crazier when you're there "
Dont you believe.. Look at this picture again and imagine to be there...:)
If you are going to Fethiye, I suggest you to stay a place which is near to Oludeniz since it is center of beatuies.Actually it does not need many words to describe it, the pictures are enough...
