Selim's wife and her sister took us for a 3 hour walk from the hotel, leaving at 7.30 in the morning with the aim of avoiding the heat of the day. The scenery was superb, but it was already extremely hot well before we got back, and we arrived feeling pretty exhausted!

Selim, the owner of the Hotel Montenegro, took us out for a day on a motor-boat. Usually, he takes guests on his own boat, but, when he took us, his was temporarily out of action, so he borrowed another one for the day. Our film ran out, as a result of which we didn't get a picture of the boat. However, we did get this picture of one of the staff at an island restaurant at which we stopped collecting stone crabs for our lunch.

The Lycian federation spreaded between the bays of Antalya and Fethiye from around 1500BC.
The most noticeable remainings of this civilsation are all their tombs carved directly into the rock face. You can find the largest and most famous at Telmessos (Fethiye) - the ‘Tomb of Amyntas’ but far from the herds of tourists, you can also find many other lost in some remote area along the coast...

The turkish pilot (kind of sailing/yatching bible) was mentionning some noticeable dwellings in the creek. We didn't know the meaning of this english word. Asking to a local guy where was the dwelling, he pointed a direction, we walked there and the only stuff we noticed was some sheep-smelling stone shelters...
Only, later on, I realised it was indeed the dwelling ;-))

South of Gocek, you'll find this awesome creek, a little paradise on Earth!! A charming mooring to spend the night and an open-air restaurant are all you can find there...
...ah and crystal-clear water, I almost forgot to mention ;-)

We spent a relaxing day on a gulet cruising round the islands off Göcek, and occasionally anchoring for a swim as well as for lunch, which was provided by the crew.

There is something more on this picture than just a buoy...if you look closer you could find where the name of this bay comes from!
