First time I went to Turkey I was chatted up by a guy in the hotel as soon as I arrived at 3AM, I later found out they check the list of customers who are due to arrive and check their date of birth, whether they are travelling with a partner or another female and decide who is having who so to speak. One guy at the hotel took a 12 year old girl up on the roof for sex and he then asked me to chat my sister in law up for him even though he knew my brother was there with her????????? If you get pestered just call him a sapik (pronounced SAPUK) this means 'pervert' in turkish, shout it loud enough he will hopefully get the message if he is annoying you. They will even sleep with people in there 60's and 70's hoping to get a visa or cash and gifts out of them (these lads are only teenagers or early 20's) I love Turkey so much but I find them hypocrytical with their sleeping around, smoking, drinking, gambling these people spoil it for the rest who are extremely lovely people.

To enter Turkey from the UK there is a Visa charge.
On Alighting from the plane enter the terminal building and head for the VISA signs
The stand for your visa will be clearly marked, just follow the crowds.
The visa costs £10 per person this includes everyone including babies..
This visa can be used again but only lasts 90 days then has to be re-newed.
Please note if you run over your visa time without renewing a heavy fine is levied
Scottish notes are not accepted.

As much as I love the the country,I still find that when producing my bill I am often being overcharged for food or drinks that we havent had.
I always advise people to check their bill to see if it matches with what they have had, even if it meens counting your drinks.
A tourist is most vunerable on the first couple of days of their holiday untill they are able to fathom out a new currency.
Its ok to be trusting but dont go wearing rose coloured spectacles,in every culture there will always be one waiting to take advantage of the unsuspecting

you may find that if u are a family taking teenage daughters on holiday to turkey that u will be quite literally be keeping ur eye (and ur hands) on them, u see all men like a bit of young eye candy but its a little different here. i am a 16 year old girl and i discovered after going to turkey with my family that i was under constant supervision. turkish boys and men alike will compliment yong girls to the max, and im not kidding. the younger 1s take advantage of their startling good looks and convince these girls that they are in love with them, and the girls believe them and become smitten. NEWSFLASH most of them either want in ur pants or a marriage visa into the UK. i have been to turkey 6 times and the 1st 4 i solely went coz i knew the attention id get and due to this fact i always ended up going with at least 2 turks while there, big mistake! there was 1 or 2 that i know for certain liked me for me and nothing more though. Anyway getting to my point, dont let ur teenage daughters go away unless there is at least 5 of them and they are 18 or above. and try 2 prevent them wearing 'tarty' clothes, i wore them when i wanted attention and trust me i got far too much, esp off old guys!!! but please just be careful and know that im not taking a dig at turkish peaople coz i know there are people like this everywhere but i dont want to see any1 getting hurt. x
