    You can't beat a local night dancing with traditional folk dancers, its a must for getting the old feet tapping hahahaha, mind you as soon as they started grabbing people out of the audience i was off up to the bar like a shot hahahahahaha (CHICKEN)hahahaha

    You will find loads of local ice cream sellers dotted around Marmaris but this one is the most famous. This is one ice cream you won't forget in a hurry. The 2 men in the photo are a right laugh, they should have been on the stage performing,rather than selling ice cream. Every min or so when your least expecting it one of them wacks this cowbell with a stick and shouts ICE CREAM at the top of his voice, this either gives you a heart attack or scares the living sh#t out of you Hahahaha. When you pluck up enough courage to actually buy one of ther icecreams one of the lads puts the cone in a ring on the end of a stick and offers it to you, this is when he starts doing his tricks, basically you can't get hold of the bloody thing hahaha. This is one of the funniest things i have ever seen, and it certainly draws the crowds in. The ice cream's not bad either hahahaha.

    This 14-year old girl set down to me on the bus as I dozed off my farewell night out. She spoke no English, and I wanted to sleap anyhow. At one stop she got off the bus, came back, counted her money, looked pensively,smiled shyly, as she had to get passed me again, then went out again. When she came back she showed me what she had bought: An evil-eye-fending keychain with a blue stone on it. The guy on the seat next to me translated what she was trying to make me understand: it was a gift for me. It was so sweet!!!!!! You may want to bring some small gifts from your country to return to such people,even if they don't expect you to.I only had coins left at this point...but then luckily I remembered the perfume from Syria I had sort of composed myself.

    Next to the more Western minded/clothed Turks there are still a lot of Turks that pray 5 times a day. This snapshot is taken in front of a typical Turkish mosquee, in the middle of the shopping centre!

    In Turkey, it is customary to remove your shoes when you are entering a house or a mosque... In the house your host will always offer your a pair of slippers...!

    Turkish people often stare blatalantly at foreigners, and such attention should not be interpreted as rudeness. However if you are a woman staring back becomes an invititation to further interaction.... Aha! :)

    Here is that famous ice cream man again, but a year older this time. We first met this man 8 years ago and everytime he gives us a good laugh. Try the cherry ice cream its delicious
