I enjoyed most the local places or open air places. I think that discos and nightclubs with heavy noise are the same everywhere in the world. I want to experience the real local places.
It is not boring; nor made for the elderly only. I've had great fun in many places. The local people, even waiters, really take their customers into consideration and pay attention. You may suddenly be taken to the floor with a local even if there's no others and it is not actually a dance place :) I found myself from the floor trying to dance oriental dance!
In many places like this they play Turkish music, either traditional or pop music. It is very hypnotising, the oriental tone can be heard, mixed sometimes in an attractive way to western pop. I had to buy records of a famous singer named Tarkan; I bet many would like at least his collection from 2003. Those songs were played in all major Turkish holiday resorts - but the guy is popular also around Europe.
Dress Code: Usually no dress code to local places and open air restaurants. Note anyhow that local men don't use shorts or sneakers.
Top night clubs and fancy discos might have some dress code (or at least "no sports gear/shorts").
Marmaris is really something special, I suppose for everybody! This year I've been there from 10-16th August, as for the barstreet, this season the coolest club was definitely Galleon! Not hard, relaxing, perfect r'n'b music was tearing throught all club! Even not mango, not green house, just galleon! I recommend it to all lovers of cool music! The number of its visitors proove everything, it was the best this season, no doubt!
This bar is ok if you are spending loads of money in there! Otherwise they ask you to leave! I was mortified to be told on the last night of my holiday, that I wasn't welcome in there by a Turkish Waiter!! What kind of people are these, I thought the Turkish were hospitable, I am going back to Marmaris in Sept 05 on a Hen night with 15 *** Heads, but we won't be visiting the Irish Bar, Thankyou
This lovely place is located right near the hotel. And as we were lazy to go to barstreet most of night we spent there :))))))))))))
Good atmosphere. Good music, good service. Dancing on the bar table ;D
Dress Code: None, but within certain limits ;-)
At night we usually went to a pub or something for a drink. We never went to a disco, so I can't tell you anything about that. We just liked having a drink somewhere and walked around a bit as there was always a lot to do at night.
The green beach fun bar is good by day or night serving food and drinks,at 10pm the waiters and staff go on stage and provide entertainment
Cocktails in Marmaris are quite expensive, i suppose the main reason being they use imported drinks, anyway expect to pay at least £3 pounds in English stirling fo a cocktail
there are many bars and nightclubs at the beach front, but this one has more atmosphere, nice music (not techno and trance), barmen are simply great!!
This is the main entrance to the bazzar in Marmaris where the shops are open untill the early hours of the morning.
