A small inlet to the east, this small bay is great for a day out of town. There are only a couple of restaurants,we visited the Rose Mary and had a lovely local stew and i won't tell you what the surprise ingredient was.I would guess it's around 1-1.5 hours but could be a bit less,we lost our way!!! Ephesus is situated approximately 70 kilometres south of Izmir or 300 kilometres north of Marmaris. It was once the most important commercial centre in the ancient world. Celsus Library today is the reconstruction of the library from the original ruins excavated from the site in recent years. It has not been fully restored to date. Celcius Library was constructed by Gaius Julius Aquila in memory of his father Gaius Julius Celsus Polemaeanus in approximately 135 AD. The grave of Celsus was located under the ground floor of the library. The library faces east towards the sun to make full use of the morning sunlight. The library is entered by way of a 21 metre platform with 9 steps. It had the capacity to store 12,000 scrolls. The library is a two storey building with three entrances behind the building. The columns on its facade were designed from Corinthian architecture. Celsus Library is the most well preserved structure of the entire ancient city of Ephesus. Website: www.ephesus.us

Grand Theatre or amphi theatre is the most well preserved facility in the entire ancient city of Ephesus not required much restorations or reconstructions! The Grand Theatre has a capacity to sit approximately 24,000 spectators those days. It can also be used today for special performance! I was told it is used occasionally for special open-air concerts. It is regarded as one of the biggest amphi theatres in the ancient world. Grand Theatre was completed in approximately 110 AD. The view of the Grand Theatre near the exit is spectacular. It provides a suitable background for excellent photography! Website: www.ephesus.us
