Da Vinci Restaurant: On the seafront

    by Britannia2 Written Oct 6, 2011

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

A short walk in the Icmeler direction along the seafront at Marmaris walking away from the harbour will bring you to the Da Vinci restaurant. This is a cheaper option than the restaurants in the other direction near and past the harbour and although really aimed at the British holidaymaker there should be something here for most people.
This is one of those restaurants where someone will almost try and drag you in but at least you can barter and reduce the cost of the meal - in our case free tea and coffee water and deserts.
Rather noisy if you sit near the street as we did but mainly open air and cool - restroom facilities adequate but not the best in town.

Favorite Dish: We had half chicken served with chips rice and vegetables as the main course - a good value meal.

  • Apple Bar & Restaurant: An Apple a Day

    by Chloe91 Updated Jun 15, 2011

This is just the best place. We were staying in an all inclusive but the food wasn't very good so we ended up in Apple Bar.

They do a brilliant English Breakfast with 'proper' sausages, the kids had cornflakes. They has lovely fresh coffee and squeezed orange juice.

The bar is a lively place, they keep it quiet whilst you're eating, but after dinner they have entertainment on, dancers, shows, karaoke, games etc. It was all suitable for kids and they also has playstation, PCs, pool table and a slide for the children.

Staff are lovely and couldn't do more to help, we were even made packed lunches to take to the airport as Dalaman is vvvvvvv expensive.

Could ask for a nicer place.

Favorite Dish: Our favourite meals were steak and/or pizza.

You pay a bit more but it's nice steak, we tried some other places and it was overcooked or covered if fat. My husband loved the pizza there (but he's a pizza fiend)

  • Andy's Erdenhan Restaurant: Say hello to Erol & Zafer

by cfsevlow Updated Apr 4, 2011

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

I have been going to Marmaris for many years and can recommend Andy’s restaurant. Food and service is first class. They have an extensive menu offering English, Turkish & Italian food, but you can ask for just about anything and they will prepare it.

The restaurant is owned and run by Zafer (chef) and Erol who runs front of house. Their personal hands on approach shows in the attentive service and attention to detail. While you are there you can also book a boat trip or Jeep Safari !

Favorite Dish: Fresh Sea Bass - simple & delightfull.

    Steak - grilled & juicy

    Hollandali Ahmet: Kumlubuku

by traveloturc Updated Mar 8, 2008

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Just 30 minutes sailing away from Marmaris Bay is this top shelf beach and restaurant. Famous among sailors and yachting enthusiasts. More often than not, attracts the attention Media of Gourmet Lifestyle. It is called Holland Beach because, the owner Mr. Ahmet worked in Restaurant and bistro business for so many years in Holland. So local people call him 'Hollandali Ahmet'. Really nice and friendly person who treats everyone as real good friends. You can never get bored around him. The formal name for his business is 'Kumlubuku Yacht Club'.

    Favorite Dish: fishes

  • Istanbul: Seriously tasty!

by ajmck Written Nov 29, 2007

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

I found the food to be delicious - especially the sea-food! The atmosphere was very relaxed, and I didn't feel at all hassled by over obsequious waiters, but the service was still attentive. It's right on the harbour front and it was good fun people watching and getting a breeze off the sea. What I especially like is the fact that it was a proper restaurant, rather than just a cafe on the street, as we were wanting to have that feeling of 'going out to dinner'. Would definitely recommend!

Favorite Dish: The stuffed squid for a starter - absolutely fabulous! A whole squid stuffed with other seafood and herbs, and covered in a creamy sauce - very indulgent and just what was needed!!

    DURAK CAFÉ: simple, cheap, nice!

by mindcrime Written Nov 1, 2007

    4 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Although the most famous restaurants are situated around the Marina my favorite place is DURAK CAFÉ, a small place for locals that serves every day something different from local cuisine of course. You can choose between 8 different foods every day, most of them typical Turkish plates.

Favorite Dish: I liked a lot the spinach plates, pilav(rice), good tzatzik, fresh salads, tasty soups, yogurt etc Most of the times I payed no more than 5 euro! :)

  • Restaurant Istanbul in Marmaris: Do not miss Restaurant Istanbul in Marmaris

    by Sabeth23 Updated Jun 17, 2007

Restaurant Istanbul serves delicious traditional Ottoman kitchen and is one of the few really high quality places in Marmaris harbour. They serve everything from cocktails over traditional Turkish meals to cigars. The restaurant is designed with much attention to detail and particularly beautiful are the fish tanks. The owners Hakan and Ismail anticipate your every wish. A highly recommended place to sample traditional Ottoman cuisine in a stylish environment.

  • Al Fresco: Best Restaurant EVER!

by Pens Written Nov 5, 2006

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

We have been visiting this restaurant for years, several times per holiday and would happilly eat there every breakfast and evening meal. The staff have always been fantastic and although some of the waiters have changed over the years, some original remain. And, in true Marmaris style, they remember you every time you go back there even if years have passed between each visit.
The food is great quality, with a vast choice, and service is quick and friendly. And, if you have children with you, they go out of their way to cater for them. Our daughter looked forward to visiting each time and fell desperately in love with one of the waiters (she's 5!) and still talks about him now. The kiddies play area is a blessing for parents with small children. it meant that we could have a nice meal, whilst letting our daughter play safely, and this is so relaxing for a parent on holiday ! We spent hours there each evening meal we visited and could have happilly sat there for several more.

Favorite Dish: The breakfast is the best value in Marmaris, from our experience. And, for evening meals, the steaks are beautiful quality, the casseroles fantastic and the chicken dishes gorgeous. For the first few days of the restaurant opening each season, the menu is restricted somewhat. but, they go out of their way to ensure you have a good meal and drink.
Years ago, when the football was on one night, my husband ordered a 'big beer'. And, yes, it was definitely big! When we returned a couple of years later, they not only remembered us, but remembered exactly which table we sat at that night and called my husband the 'big beer man...' i guess they are still not quite used to how much the British man can drink in one sitting!
