  • Tip Rating:
  • This is the way up to the castle. Along the road there are some nice small shops where you can buy souvenirs, I bougt a chain and a bracelet. At the top near the castle there is a nice restaurant, you can sit on the balcony and have a great view at the sea

Dalyan : Healthy Mud Baths with lots of fun
  • Tip Rating:
  • Dalyan has many therapeutic hot springs. The waters which contain radioactive elements and sulphur are believed to cure rheumatism, skin, liver, spleen and bowel complaints, as well as being beneficial for nervous and digestive disorders. The Sultaniye Thermal Bath which is famous in Turkey, the water is 40 degrees C. The water used since Hellenistic times. The mud baths are also said to remedy rheumatism as well as cleanse and beautify skin. Once you have covered yourself in the mud, than you wait for a few minutes for it to dry. You clean yourself in the sulphur pool. Mud bath is also at a temperature of 40 degrees. See my Dalyan pages for extra-ordinairy and funny pictures, and also the travelogues at the bottom!!! It's worth a look.

Marmaris with it's harbour, the boulevard with lots of restaurants. The little shops, the nice people. In one word Super!! Marmaris lies at the south-west side of the Anatolische coast, there where the Egeische- and the Mediterranean sea cross each other. Marmaris has 15.000 inhabitants, 9000 are living in the centre.Marmaris is surround in the north by the mountain Balan (993 m), peninsula Bozburun in the west and peninsula Resadiye at the east. From origin Marmaris is a Greek word meaning shinning, sparkling. I think that is what Marmaris is....sparkling!

    Statue of Ataturk

As President for 15 years, until his death in 1938, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk introduced a broad range of swift and sweeping reforms - in the political, social, legal, economic, and cultural spheres - virtually unparalleled in any other country. His achievements in Turkey are an enduring monument to Atatürk.
