I noticed many other nice statues along the promenade. There is a weird one with Nasa’s austronaut (!! pic 3), but I liked the one with the fishemen (pic 5), it reminds the old times when Marmaris was a small fish village. In another statue the woman carry the baby waiting her husband from the sea (pic 2), the area is so connected with the sea and travels
When in Marmaris, it is worth visiting the impressive remains of Amos which are within easy reach from practically anywhere in Marmaris town and the major beach resorts.
Dating back to hellenistic times, the ruins include a hillside amphitheatre, a temple and statue pedestals.
Monthly Marmaris Amphitheater Programme is available online in the summer months. Each summer Marmaris schedules many events. The amphitheatre in Armutalan has many concerts well worth seeing.
Theatre, temple and some statue pedestals of the antique settlement centre located on a hill at the northwest of Kumlubük Bay, close to Turunç can be seen. The city was surrounded by walls. The theatre is still in good condition. It is possible to recognize the seats, side walls and three rooms of the stage house.
