Roman Pool
I’ve been informed about our destination on the way: Gumusler Monastery and Roman Pool. I have an approximate image of a monastery on my mind, but a Roman Pool, what could it look like? A regular swimming pool? Something more bath than a pool? A pool-like ruin?After strolling in Gumusler we reached the second destination, parked the car in a place covered by trees which is not very common in central Anatolia. And Voila! There was a pool in perfect condition: An ordinary, huge, clean, unspoiled, old and marvelous pool! Its water was shining under the bright sun. Ducks are swimming inside, and fishes, too. It was one of the first hot days of 2008 and I wished to swim with the ducks.There had been a Roman city here and it must have been very wealthy.
