by Weissdorn Marmaris is one of the largest harbors on the Aegean Coast in Turkey, and personally, I never saw so many of little bars, night clubs, discos, restaurants, snobby cafes and holes-in-the-wall as this place. I figure there are 200 establishments - for every taste from Techno Disco to Turkish Folkmusic This city has specialized for the boat tourists. There isn't a bar or restaurant that doesn't have German/English/French speaking personnel. Although they even have restaurants that specialize in international fare, it is recommended that you order native dishes.
Apparently they did away with this years ago. Yachties don't dress up when they go out - they put one clean (relatively clean clothes) and shoes for a change, and shave (yes land electricity does have it's advantages!). Leave a Comment Theme: NightclubDirections: The waterfront street directly in the harbor is the strip for the more predominent establishments. The 'second class', although often more interesting places are on the next street running parallel toOther Contact: The entire district is well-suit

Most of the restaurants you eat and drink in do not shut until the last person has left. The turkish people will do anything to keep their customers happy I have seen staff leave to get a special drink for a customer from one of the shops as they have ran out.

For something a bit different, go to the local cinemas a few times. One cinema is in the Oasis shopping complex, in between Bodrum and Gumbet, reached by taxi, approx. £2.50 from Bodrum, or by dolmus, approx. 30p. The cinemas show all the latest blockbusters, in English with Turkish subtitles, and are excellent value for money 3,000,000 TL per person (approx. £1.30). Leave a Comment Theme: Other

Halikarnas is the local night-club. It has earned its name of 'The Most Beautiful Night Club in the World'. A stunning venue, all outdoors, surrounded by imitation roman-style pillars, and stone walls. Quite hard to describe to be honest, but defiantly worth a visit. At 12:30, and I think 1:30am, there is a stage show with dancers, that is err.. interesting! Music is the general chart stuff with a bit of Turkish town in for good measure! General th enightlife was quite stange in Turkey. There were 3 off us, all males, travelling. We were continully seperated in the 'single' section as you were not allowed to dance unless you had a partner. When you are in the more travelled areas, especially at the time off year I was there, you find a lot of tourist in the clubs, so the rules are not as strict.
Most of the time, we were out in shorts/t-shirts as it was quite hot. We didn't have any trouble getting in anywhere due to dress requlations. In Istanbul, we wore long pants and collared shirts. Leave a Comment Theme: Other

Marmaris is the best place for nihtgtlife. I saw all sorts of people, black and white, red, yellow, green, with stripes and dots, transvestites, who knows... There is a 'Bar street' with discotheques, caffe bars on both sides. Action never stops, you can come at 6am and find fun. If you sit in a caffe, barmen will ask you if you want to taste 'the nargile'. That is a water-pipe with flavoured turkish tobbacos. You can choose vanila, green apple, mentha, cappuccino or something else. It feels like you're smoking but it smells nice. You can buy nargile as a souvenir. There are all kinds of discotheques, with diffrent kinds of music, techno, rock, oriental, latino, whatever you like. Some have show girls and boys. All shops are open untill atleast 1am, street sellers stay longer, if you want to buy shoes at 3 o'clock in the morning, you can do it in Marmaris. I could write and write, but as I said earlier, GO ! Leave a Comment Theme: Other

by DAISYCHAIN Marmaris is full of lively bars and disco's. Most bars offer free drinks (sometimes t.shirts as well) upon entree. There is a main strip towards the marina in Marmaris. The marina also has lovely restaurants here, many to choose from. Very friendly staff who try to offer the best to meet their guests tastes.
