Queens Garden: Drink, brother, drink!

by Gozefroos

Walk around in the late evening in Alanya, follow your ears and you will eventually find a square in the shopping precinct, that turns into an open-air nightclub at night. Huge quantities of drink go hand in hand with waiters dancing on tables and seducing both men and women with their bare chests and suggestive hip movements. There are DJ's playing dance music as well as popular sing-alongs that everyone knows. They play the British Drinking Classics, The German Schlager, the Dutch Smartlap and even the odd Turkish Chartbuster. Don't be afraid to sit next to a stranger; he will be your friend when you stumble back to your hotel after a good few hours of drinking, singing, birdwatching and general fun. Whatever you are wearing.

MURAT BAR: URGUP's nightlife

by ilovenewjersey

Murat Bar, located accross the main Bus station in Urgup, Cappadocia. There's this very friendly/charming waiter/receptionist name Adam who'll make you feel at home. He speaks English fluently, very accomodating. I've learned so much from him and other locals in the bar--the manager, the lady translator, another lady tour guide(sorry I forgot their names), their own perspective about life in Turkey, customs, traditions, values, I even had my first Raki there. I was hanging out in that bar the whole 3 nights I was in Urgup. The atmosphere inside the the bar is awesome. Reminds me of those pictures/scenes I've seen in movies, very ethnic and/or romantic. Chairs and tables are made of wood, foamed benches accross the walls, antigue decorations, fireplace in the middle, turkish carpet on the floor. The rates are very reasonable/cheap. Food's delicious---try their Pizza. I had my choice of...

Taksim: Hanging out

by Clarchika

Taksim is a place with plenty of pubs also clubs, people playing on streets.. But in the night men are even more dominating public. Women be aware if you go alone to club they might think of you as a whore.. Rare women that go out are in company of their male friends. We went to club only once and must say it was quite interesting to see belly dancing style on the disco floor;)

The Castle Cafe and Bar: A great place for cheap beer and to see the sunset

by Paul2001

The Castle Cafe and Bar was one of my favourite place to hang out in Antalya. It is located on top of a cliff, behind the Hidirhik Kulesi. The location gives you a great view of the evening sunset and the harbour. In fact I doubt there is a better sunset in Turkey. The Efes beer was cheep and so was the food. I ate lunch here but only found the food passable. It has a big outdoor patio but not much in the way of a bar.

Keravansaray Istanbul: Belly and Folk Dancing Show

by faridah

Interesting show. We had dinner here too but dinner was lousy, the show was not too bad, enjoyed the last show, a stand up singing comedian. Envy the tummies of the belly dancer, not all of them, one had a flabby tummy so not much to envy ; ). The show starts about 9pm and we were all very tired and sleepy by then, only alert at the last show.Show is harmless enough for kids.

Fidans: Quiet Night life

by soundchaseruk

The current Major of Turunc Mr Fidan owns the Fidan night club and bar on the main street (there is only one street !!). Well he did until it burnt down three times in 2006 !!When I was last there the night club which had the latest hours licenced in the village (I wonder why?) but after being burnt down the night club was not operational, but just as a bar.Other bars exist in the village and a expensive night club on the first floor above the hairdressers and bag shops, opened in 2006 obviously to fill the gap left by Fidans. As I am 53 I didn't go in but I heard the drinks were expensive and from what I could see not well attended.Marmaris is the place to visit for good Trance and Hard House (so my daughter tells me), so enjoy the quiet of the night life in Turunc, but if you have your youth then head for Marmaris. The Dolmus comes back late as does the water taxi. Not sure what times.

This is a very popular club though it is not open during the high season as everyone leaves the city and head south to the beach resorts.Music is aimed at 18-30 year olds.....Bottled beer/drinks are the norm at a cost of around 10YTL, though the price may vary on certain nights!Open Friday and Saturday and gets busy from around 2330 onwards - closes around 0330Taxi there and Taxi home the sensible option....see below!! If there is one I didnt notice!
