Leave a Comment

Leave a Comment

Leave a Comment

I am always surprised how easy it is to make friends in Turkey. This is a picture of my friend Mehmet in Ciftlik, near Marmaris. You will find that people on the Aegean Coast are for the most part very friendly and honest people. Leave a Comment

Sirince is a small village in the hills near Selcuk. On the 14th of October 2001, I went to a wine festival there. The festival is held every year at about the same time and the local vineyards have their produce on display for tasting. The village shops sell lace and other local goods and the local restaurants do a roaring trade. If you are able to make it there on this day, you will have a memorable experience. Go early as a lot of people from Selcuk and elsewhere drive up there and parking is a problem late in the day. I guess at other times of the year, Sirince is a peaceful and quiet retreat that would be well worth seeing. Leave a Comment
