Packing List

Suitcase and backpack. Comfortable cool clothes, swimsuit, sunglasses (you can get them there), comfortable shoes/ sandals and don't forget your going out at night stuff eaither.Take something slightly warmer for when it gets cool at night. Bring your usual cosmetics and toiletries but don't bother with perfume as it attracts mosquitos. A HIGH FACTOR SUN CREAM!! AND AFTER SUN.Usually I buy mosquito cream out there (it is a lot better than the stuff you can buy in Britain.). A normal camera and extra batteries and film but you can buy more film out there. If you plan to go scuba diving invest in an under water camera - there are disposable ones available in some shops in Britain. Sandals, swimsuit, sarronge(for women + girls), hat or cap. An extra bag is useful as a lot of people tend to buy more then what they can fit into their luggage.Don't bring too much jewellery as you are...

Don´t forget to take some tissues in your bags when going out. Restrooms are not very clean and only in a few public places I could find a roll of toilet paper Be sure to be properly dressed when visiting a mosque. You also have to take off your shoes. Women will be lent a handscarf to enter.

Be a Traveler and not a Tourist - A Tourist is one that expects everything to be the way it is back home, and a Traveler accepts the challenges faced during travel which makes each country that he or she has traveled unique.

60 - 70l backpack is sufficient for 3 weeks' trip. TEWA neoprene sandals (or similar), 'convertible' pant (they won't let you in some religious places in shorts, even short sleeves are sometimes unwanted). Bring as much as you expect to need. Medicins are easy to obtain and cheap, but most of them are of local provenience so you do not know the exact composition and dosage. You may also experience language problems.(Pharmacy = Eczane) Pack all batteries you will need plus some reserve. Even the AA's are rare in Turkey and they tend to sell you old ones for a high price. On the other hand films are sold at every sightseeing. For most landscapes and city sightseeings a wide-angle lens is required. If you want to make interieur pictures (recommended), carry a high-speed film too; your flash cannot bring enough light in any mosque... Rethink twice the necessity of a tent. Rain is rare in...

I don't know where to put this so I picked Packing. When most US people hear Turkey they think of sand and camels. In Turkey there are not many camels except for the tourist places and the sand is all on the beach. Depending where your going you can have snow (northern part) to very hot (southern part) so check before you pack.

If you are going in the summer months, then don't pack any trousers or jumpers, you will not have any cold weather!! In the winter you can expect rain, so i am told, so dress for that. Also there are so many clothes that you can buy over there,( a lot for the men, not so much for girls) and there are a lot of named clothes, so you can pack half a suitcase and come back with a full one! In the medical kit, take stuff for dehydration, it can happen easily, also stuff for the heat, like i got a heat rash.

A bottle of water, something to cover your head with, not only against the sun, but also when you (as a woman) enter a mosq or religious place. And: don't look too naked (arms and legs) please, show some respect. Study Abroad

Study Abroad Travel Inside Turkey Other Means of Transportation in TurkeyGetting from Istanbul's International Airport There is an airport bus, Havas, but if you're unfamiliar with the city, it's best to have your hotel pick you up (ask them) or to arrange airport pick-up through a Local Travel Agent. There are, of course, taxis. It's difficult to estimate cost, but as a rule the fare from the airport to Sultanahmet is around $20-$25. Check with the Tourist Information Office in the International Terminal for estimates and advice on the best transport to take based on the time of your arrival and budget. - Airports: http://www.turkey.org/tourism/' \l 'Airports- Satet Railways: http://www.turkey.org/tourism/' \l 'State%20Railways- Maritime Lines: http://www.turkey.org/tourism/' \l 'Maritime Lines- Sea Buses (Istanbul Only): http://www.turkey.org/tourism/' \l 'Sea%20Buses- Inner-city Bus...
