If you have a liking for sweets than you have reach the ultimate Baklava, Turkish delight (Lokum) sweet heaven in Turkey.I am not really into sweets but the tasty morsels at this store are melt in your mouth out of this world.There is many types of baklava and turkish delight here but you are allowed to taste them before purchasing. Note the price per kilo is alot more expensive than most other places but the quality, taste etc is second to none.You may eat them there in the upstairs cafe, takeaway or they can be vaccum packed for travel. My favourites where the baklavas with walnuts and hazelnuts in them.

Hamdi Restaurant: Refuge Near the Grand Bazaar

If you need a place to relax and recover from the Grand Bazaar and are feeling hungry, you might want to visit nearby Hamdi Restaurant - this dining establishment has been in operation for over 30 years and has won several prestigious awards. The outdoor roof-top dining room affords a sweeping view of the Golden Horn, but can be uncomfortably hot under an intense summer sun. The second floor indoor dining room is both well-appointed and air-conditioned. We found the staff to be highly attentive and polite. It was the only restaurant we dined at where water was included! Very clean including the restrooms. We ordered the lamb kebap which was as good as any other we've had in Turkey. The accompanying side dishes were also not bad. On a scale of 1-5, I'd give the food here a solid 3, service a 4, and ambiance a 4. Our lunch cost $14 for two, including tip.

It's a family restaurant. also they accept group reservation. they cooking meat foods who expert in kebab. the restaurant it's clean. i've never ever seen like this. they playing middle-east music also folk music. sometimes i hear violin. restaurant has wifi (free) so u can use while eating your kebab. havan kebab it's special. i prefer and suggest this kebab. also their pida with special minced meat they called as "lahmacun" superb.

This is an unpretentious restaurant set on a terrace surrounded with colourful plants. the atmosphere is infectious, relaxed gaiety. It is run by a local woman and her mother and aunt.The food is typically Turkish - freshly prepared with no processed food in sight. Mamma's Pastry is a specialty of the house. There is a choice of meats or vegetarian and the salads are amazing as are the soup and mezes. The restaurant is licenced.Prices are very reasonable - 3 courses and a beer is approximately 25 -30 ytl. I enjoyed all the food I ate here and yes, the pastry is good - literally stuffed with meat and vegetables and would satisfy the biggest appetite. There is of course a vegetarian option.

We cannot remember the name of this wonderful Turkish seafood restaurant. It is located on a lane off the left hand side of Istiklal Cadessi towards Taksim Square approximately half way between Galata Tower and Taksim Square. The restaurant is one of the numerous seafood restaurants located along the lane packed with local and foreign tourists especially in the evening. They served excellent and delicious small dish appetizers.You pick your live fish from the aquarium from shops opposite the restaurant. You can also choose other fresh seafood chilled with ice displayed outside the shops such as the mouth-watering octopus, oysters, crabs, king prawns and lobsters. The rest will be taken care of by the restaurant and they will cook the seafood of your choice in less than half an hour.
