Vorspeisen in der Türkei: Üppig gelandene Vorspeisenteller

by Rhoenbaeuml

by Rhoenbaeuml

by Rhoenbaeuml

by Rhoenbaeuml

Cem's Restaurant Boat: Do You See the Restaurant in this Picture?

by Weissdorn

Hard to believe but true! You're looking at one of the most popular Yachty so-called Bush Restaurants, here in the Cleopatra Bay. Because it's in the middle of a natural reserve, no one is allowed to build a hut or even a tent on land. No kidding - this is strictly forbidden. In the past government troops have come in with sledge hammers for enterpreneur Turks who thought the government wasn't really serious about environmental protection. There is only a picnic table at the end of this rickty, but surprisingly stable dock. The real hit is that in front of the left boat is a row boot, in which the people have built a small adobe oven on, to cook you bread for breakfast.Maybe some of you are thinking, 'I wonder if you could eat here without getting sick?'. YES, you can eat everything you want, without getting sick. But on the day we were here the guys got heartsick, because they ran out...

Appetizer Bar: Appetizers

by Weissdorn

The Turks often go to a lot of work preparing appetizers like the ones in this picture, which are often much tastier and interesting that the main dishes. Among the real goodies are fried eggplant, marianated stuffed wine leaves, bulgar salad with chiles, walnut paste cream and potatoe salad.

Cleopatra Bay: Baking Bread on a Worn-out Dinghy

by Weissdorn

Same restaurant in Cleopatra Bay. Cem has a small out-of-service motorboat, that they've put up on blocks. They've built a home-made wood-burning oven on top of it to bake bread. You can order bread the night before, and they will bring it to your ship the next morning. Their olive-oil bread will stay fresh for at least 4 days.

Whoops! can I remember all of...

by SteveOne

Whoops! can I remember all of them? No I can't there were so many places, and all of them were good.We had to keep moving around because of who they thought I was, which can be a bit too much at times. However, we would suggest you visit HisaronuIf you want endless amounts of restaurants, bars, shops and boat trips then Hisaronu is the place for you. I had expected the resort to be quite quiet as we travelled in September but I couldn't have been more wrong!Hisaronu is a really lively, friendly, clean resort! Its not lively as in-full of young, single, drunks, but there are loads of bars (and a few clubs)which give it a great night-life!The people were all really friendly.Plenty of good restauants, we especially liked Santana (massive portions at really cheap prices. Dragonara Chinese 2.80 for a two course meal with rice or noodles or Dominoes, a bit pricier but well worth it.There are...

Chicken

by Sharrie

This is our first lunch in Turkey. The 1st thought that comes to mind, hey, this looks like Chinese food! Well, it's the only time I opted for chicken in Turkey, which I didn't know at that time (not counting the kebab we had later, on our own expense, in Ankara). It was cooked with eggplant (blinjal for some).

Pancake

by Sharrie

With each meal, we were filled with anticipation as to what'll be served next, esp. with regards to bread. It was fun to discover each meal is a new experience. Here, at Pamukkale, we discovered something familiar :-D It's somewhat like Indian's version of Roti but with spinach in it. I love it :-)
