Sunday market in Masukiye, not especially big but crams a lot in from the expected fruit and vegetables from the farms nearby and fresh cheeses etc. to spices, household bits and pieces and to my amazement, fish.

One of the nearest skiing resorts to Istanbul, this area has great summer views and walks with the bonus of winter snow.I think one of the higher elevations in Turkey and only between 1 1/2 and 2 hours from Istanbul with Sapanca just before you climb up with it's peaceful lakeside.

Open since 1983.Great local dishes in a nice quiet area. All the tables and chairs could do with renewing as they're getting a bit shabby but it doesn't detract from the peacefulness of the place.4 fish pools show you what's on offer but not the frogs.Been here 3 times now and enjoyed it every time.
Nice photos on their web page, sorry it's in Turkish.
Favorite Dish: Alabalik or in English the local trout.

Popular place in Kirkpinar in a really nice setting on the lake side.
We only stopped for teas but it has a large kitchen which shows its popularity.
Looks like you could also rent a boat here and have a swim.

Situated on the lakeside it gives you those lovely cooling breezes around dusk.Great local food ie the fish but we were also treated to a few songs by a popular old Turkish singer apart from the usual live music.
Floating platform if you want to bob around a bit whilst eating.
Down the road about 4 miles from Sapanca.
Favorite Dish: I had the bream which was perfectly grilled.

The name of the restaurant is Titiz which means choosy or fastidious.
The welcome is warm and the food fresh and tasty.Been here a couple of times now and always nice to come back somewhere so good .... and ...... cheap.
Kofte, salad, chips and ayran all for 11ytl or $8 speaks for itself.
Restaurant is spotless and the toilets.
Situated in Kirkpinar,means 40 springs.
Favorite Dish: Kofte, that's meat balls are perfect with the salad and a glass of Ayran.

Situated in Kirkpinar but also in Sapanca,we found this hire shop while visiting the garden/flower centre next door.Prices are 3Ytl or $2 per hour. Also does bicycle repairs. To find it stay south side of the railway tracks but easier to ask in the centre of Kirkpinar.
Ensar Ticaret, also sells mountainbikes and motor bikes.

Spotted this while driving around, whilst visiting a friends house.Haven't tried it here yet but planning to soon.
Also have catamarans,wind surfing,water skiing,wakeboard,kneeboard and volleyball.
Equipment: Couldn't get much off their web page but they should speak English as they're a hotel as well.
