Touts
This is a general warning, but more of a plea for common sense. In Istanbul (the tourist areas) and other towns heavy with tourism, people who walk up to to talk are so obviously trying to get something out of you, there is no reason to engage them, besides a polite brush off (unless you really want to talk to them.) No where in the world has a random stranger walked up to me, started talking to me, and I've become their friend. In non-touristy parts of Istanbul, no one one approached me in this "friendly" manner. I'm not saying be mean or cynical, but common sense says, "why is this person talking to me out of nowhere on the streets of foreign country?" Have you ever approached someone in this manner?
