    by amna24 Updated Apr 16, 2008

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

As the name implies, 49er's The Gold Rush, Abu Dhabi is themed around the Wild West and the evolution of Americas. Located on rooftop of Al Diar Dana hotel, this restaurant offers spectacular views of the bustling city and its skyscrapers.

AMALFI Abu Dhabi: dedicatet to real italian cooking & seafood dishes

    by amna24 Updated Mar 4, 2008

Amalfi, the town, is situated where you’d imagine the laces to be on Italy’s riding boot-shaped coastline. It’s surrounded by vast cliffs, watercolour scenery, and is registered as a World Heritage Site. It’s puzzling then, that Amalfi, one of the ground-floor restaurants at Le Royal Meridien, has ignored everything its namesake stands for and instead overlooks a swimming pool and is made up of rather bland straight lines.

The light does it no favours at lunchtime, with the white walls reflecting onto cutlery and balding men, yet in the evening it threatens to be romantic and, if you keep your expectations on the liberal side, it isn’t a bad place to dine.

The food has a lot of making up to do for its location, and seeing the likes of prawn cocktail and Parma ham and melon on the menu – the most common dishes imaginable from a 1980s dinner party – it seemed Amalfi’s food wasn’t going to reflect its authentic namesake a few thousand miles away in Europe.

Favorite Dish: The high prices are far from justified, though. The food needs an edge to make Amalfi live up to its name.

AL ATLAL Abu Dhabi: offers authentic Levantine

    by amna24 Updated Mar 4, 2008

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

The restaurant is specious and appealing, with stone floors and tables, with quick and friendly
    services.

The decor is tacky, with a glitter ball adorning the ceiling, and it’s so loud you’ll struggle to talk, but the food is good, cheap and plentiful.

    Open Daily 11pm-3.30am.

Favorite Dish: get stuck into the range of staple Arabic dishes – a tahini-rich homous, lemony tabbouleh, vine leaves and garlickly green beans, which are all above average. For mains, go for the mixed grill.

AL FANAR Abu Dhabi: revolving restaurant with exceptional city views

    by amna24 Updated Mar 4, 2008

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

It’s easy to dismiss revolving restaurants as throwbacks to an altogether less sophisticated era, namely the 1970s, during which high levels of architectural gimmickry occasionally helped gloss over low levels of culinary expertise. The décor is distinctly nautical, with dark wood, porthole features and royal blue, stripy upholstery. Breathtaking views of every corner of this rapidly developing city.banquette seating faces outwards from the centre and small tables sit alongside the window edge. You chug around so slowly that at first you barely know you’re moving.
Abu Dhabi looks bizarrely impressive from up high, and the sea was a bright azure blue. Unusually, brunchers were constantly moved to wax lyrical about the city’s architecture. With attentive, softly-softly service and soothing, barely-audible jazz, Al Fanar is at the sophisticated, lunchey end of the brunching game.

Favorite Dish: The resturant offers buffet. The food at Al Fanar is brilliant enough to speak for itself.

The quaint English Pub exudes a cheerful ambience, complete with warm interiors, a billiards table table, sports T.V. channels (with 62 inch screen) and friendly staff complete the package.

Favorite Dish: The menu lists all the drinking classics, from peppered steak to all day English breakfasts, and throws a couple of more left-field options into the mix.

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

for me the meal is too big I ussually share one dish with my husband. the most thing I like in this resturant the interior design and the atmosphere. Moreover, I like to make birthday surprise for my friends overhere because I like there way of celebrating and there songa. but, I hate when we go outside the resturant our cloth smell very bad like if I am standing in the the middel of the kitchen while the chief is cooking.

Favorite Dish: Molten cake ( mixxed of chocolate cake with hot chocolate souce and vanilla ice cream on top covered with iced chocolate) Yummmy. But I have to avoid it because I am putting wieght.

So I replaced it with the delecious salad the QUESADILLA EXPLOSION Salad

For starter they have a multiple platter different taste in one dish

    cafe: Some Cafe shop

    by amna24 Updated Feb 13, 2008

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

The Marina Cafe: Just before Havanna cafe. It's a beautiful seaside cafe with a wonderful view of the sea. I like the view of the sitting area. Very nice!

Starbucks: Located in the the Marina mall and Abu Dhabi Mall ,. I know they have several others in different locations .

Le Cavalier Cafe: The Medinat Zayed Shoping Center on the ground floor . This is hidden a little bit, but that makes it a nice quiet area to sit . It's a good place for a quiet meeting or a bit of privacy,

Antonella: Cafe & Rest Coffee shop. It is located in Khalidia Area next to Burger King and same road too as the Golden Fork restaurant. This looks a lovely cafe, I like the the name and the design of the place outside. I think this is probably a place one would choose for evening coffee or quiet evening out.
