AL ATLAL Abu Dhabi: offers authentic Levantine
The restaurant is specious and appealing, with stone floors and tables, with quick and friendly
The decor is tacky, with a glitter ball adorning the ceiling, and it’s so loud you’ll struggle to talk, but the food is good, cheap and plentiful.
Open Daily 11pm-3.30am.
Favorite Dish: get stuck into the range of staple Arabic dishes – a tahini-rich homous, lemony tabbouleh, vine leaves and garlickly green beans, which are all above average. For mains, go for the mixed grill.
AL FANAR Abu Dhabi: revolving restaurant with exceptional city views
It’s easy to dismiss revolving restaurants as throwbacks to an altogether less sophisticated era, namely the 1970s, during which high levels of architectural gimmickry occasionally helped gloss over low levels of culinary expertise. The décor is distinctly nautical, with dark wood, porthole features and royal blue, stripy upholstery. Breathtaking views of every corner of this rapidly developing city.banquette seating faces outwards from the centre and small tables sit alongside the window edge. You chug around so slowly that at first you barely know you’re moving.
Abu Dhabi looks bizarrely impressive from up high, and the sea was a bright azure blue. Unusually, brunchers were constantly moved to wax lyrical about the city’s architecture. With attentive, softly-softly service and soothing, barely-audible jazz, Al Fanar is at the sophisticated, lunchey end of the brunching game.
Favorite Dish: The resturant offers buffet. The food at Al Fanar is brilliant enough to speak for itself.
ALLY PALLY CORNER: An expat favourite with British grub
The quaint English Pub exudes a cheerful ambience, complete with warm interiors, a billiards table table, sports T.V. channels (with 62 inch screen) and friendly staff complete the package.
