Like all Malls, shopping takes on a different flavour in the Gulf. To be inside an airconditioned environment with everything under one roof is wonderful. The décor is also tasteful and pleases the eye.
The variety of shops means you can find almost anything you need, or just window shop. Just a sample: Woolworths. Plug-ins
Leave the children at Fun City.
Go to the Foodcourt next to Fun City.
Have a juice drink on the ground floor near a fountain..
Go to Carrefour hypermarket at basement level where anything and everything is available.

What to buy: Spoiled for choice.

What to pay: For cheap things, go to Carrefour.
For designer outfits wander and take your pick.

amazing lighting in the shape of a flock of birds looking out from Marina Mall Mist or pollution outside Marina Mall The Marina from Marina Mall

    Souvenir Shopping

by zuyao Updated Apr 14, 2007

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Quite hard to shop for souvenirs in Abu Dhabi - not much variety compared to other places. But you can get some nice souvenirs - T-shirts, coffee pot, genie bottle, carpets etc. from Hamdan Center along Sheikh Hamdan Road. You can also get some cheap memorabilia like bottles of sand collected from different emirates and other replicas from a shop called Gift Tower (behind Hamdan Center). There is also another shop called Wonder Gift located at the corner of Hamdan St & Salam St. So happy souvenir-shopping!

What to buy: T-shirts, camel statues, replica of Burj al-Arab, postcards, genie lamp, sand from different emirates (different colors) etc.

What to pay: Few dirhams to couple of tens of dirhams... depending on what you want to buy.

In case you already have Ikea in your country, then maybe it is not a big deal. But for me Ikea stores are a place I look forward to shopping in since I find their products, reasonable, reliable and exclusive. We do not have Ikea stores in India.

What to buy: Home decor products, Linens, garden equipment, furnishing, furniture and much more.
