by Cielo_Algaeed Abu Dhabi's Corniche has undergone massive redevelopment over the past few years. Along the Corniche Road West you can find a long stretch of pathways, cycling area, benches, trees and shades. Very ideal spot to unwind and relax. Best time of the day to visit is early morning and late afternoon when the sun is not too strong.

Emirates Palace is one of Abu Dhabi's landmark. We thought by mistake it is one of the Sheik's Palace but we were informed that it is one of the luxurious hotel in Abu Dhabi. About 300 rooms with a 1.3 stretch of private beach the guests can enjoy. Very beautiful from afar and for sure its really a treat being able to see whats inside.

The Breakwater is located just near the Marina Mall. It is part of a reclaimed land connected by a causeway to the corniche. The beachfront walkways are an extension of the corniche project. From here you can have a spectacular views of the city. A nice place just to sit and feel the cool breeze esp during sunset til night.

by Cielo_Algaeed The Tallest Flagpole (unsupported) can be found in Abu Dhabi, about 123m tall. Formerly known as the tallest unsupported flagpole in the world not until Jordan erected their own about 3 meters higher (126m). You can see this Flagpole like a welcoming hand from afar. Located near the Marina Mall and the Sports Club.

by Cielo_Algaeed Abu Dhabi International Marine Sports Club is the organizing body for local and international water sports event. This includes jetski races, powerboat events and other traditional watersports. Though it is exclusive for members and their guests, still you can have a look from the breakwater or the corniche. Luxury yachts and jet ski's can be seen ducked near the breakwater.

Human faced watch towers by Faiza-Ifrah There are many watch towers that you will still notice standing tall on the hill tops of the UAE during your off road driving adventures. The watch towers were built to warn the inhabitants of villages of approaching bandits. The design of the watch towers is characteristically human face shaped with a nose, ears two eyes. A decorated well by Faiza-Ifrah A trip to the Heritage Village is good for introducing yourself with the traditional UAE culture before undertaking a real life 4 wheel drive to the interior of the country. The hosts are very friendly, especially towards the children. The young ones will end up getting many gifts. Children will enjoy camel rides and playing with Saluki dogs. Dhow - Arabian traditional boat by Faiza-Ifrah The two Heritage Villages of Abu Dhabi deserve an evening of exploration. We visited the Heritage Village of the Abu Dhabi Breakwater with my sister and her daughter who visited us from Pakistan in 2004 on the eve of our departure from UAE for Canada. The entrance is free and the hosts are extremely courteous. You will be able to see traditional Arabian village life in the Heritage Village. Leave a Comment Address: Abu Dhabi Breakwater

into the dunes by tglenn57 now this may look easy but my muscles were surprisingly sore for a few days after. make sure that your "saddle" (i use the term loosely) is on tight or you will end up on your camel's ėnd" like i did. (this may explain the sore muscles.) you will be driven out to the dunes once again where you will meet your camels. pay careful attention to this next bit of info: hold on very tight when the camel stands up or lays down. they are very tall beasts and if you fall it will hurt. i promise. you can arrange a trek for just you or a group. it is awesome to plod slowly along with the wind stirring the sand up in little puffs and the sun is enormous and red low in the sky. complete silence. if you want you can ask your guide to make the camels gallop and you can race along the red sands together. Absolutely a must! Its very touristic but believe me has a lot of fun and in one day you can experience a lot :) Book with one of million companies a tour that starts usually at 16:00 till 21.00-22.00.It starts from a visit to a camel farm where you socialize with camels lol and take a look of how these farms look like. After that you go with the 4x4 car in dunes and the big party begins!Remember that if you ate late that day you will have problems with the stomach, adrenaline comes in big amounts. At first I was closing my eyes but then I was losing the fun so hold tight and enjoy it!A short stop for relaxing as the sun sets in desert and then we went to a beduins camp where we had tea or coffee and buffet with lebanese food mmmm. You can have a hena tattoo (I did), smoke from nargile and put some beduins clothes on.At the end we all took part to a belly dance trying to follow the movements of the dancer he he In desert it is very cold at night so dont forget to have some extra clothes with you
