Situated on the side of Qattara Oasis, the refurbished fort has a restaurant which is a good place for a lunch or drink, particularly in the heat of the day. It is an open air restaurant, with old-style roof and walls. The ceiling has several water jets that give a much needed refreshing mist to cool you off from the heat. To the back side, the slightly elevated view lets you look at the tops of the palm trees inside the oasis walls.
Favorite Dish: Only sampled a small portion of the menu. The food it not worthy of particular praise, but it good enough and the atmosphere is cozy.

Address: Qattara Fort
This is a small, very inexpensive restaurant which serves mostly Indian and Chinese style dishes. It has quite a large menu of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options.
The surroundings are not at all grand but the food was well prepared and it seemed very clean.
There are separate areas for men only and for families/women to sit and eat here.
Favorite Dish: I like the vegetable balls in a soy sauce which includes chillies. I think it's called Manchurian veg balls on the menu. The samosas are quite good too.
