I thought it will boring, but I was dead wrong. It was a big hit with the little ones who refuse to leave despite the heat. There are the usual stuff, cows, goats, camels, donkey, chickens, ducks and horses. Kids can feed the animals and they can take a camel or a horse ride. Make this the last thing you sea other wise kids won't wanna leave.

    Emirate Media Arts Club
  • Tip Rating:
  • Is located within the Heritage area. It is located in one of the old houses. They organize exihibit with the center and out side. Feel free to walk in and look around.

    BAIT AL YOUSEF
  • Tip Rating:
  • This is a good example of the local a house and architecture. This house was owned by a local Pearl trader and was built in the 19th century. The nice thing about this house was the fact that it was furnished. Bait Al Naboodah was not furnished when I visited it.

    Sharjah Museum of Art
  • Tip Rating:
  • Again this museum opens only when there are exhibits. However it has a descent size local art library; so it is open daily for that purpose in morning. No body asked me for a ticket but the general ticket for Sharjah Museum should cover this one also.
The museum has also a coffee shop and a gift shop

    Sharjah Art Area
  • Tip Rating:
  • It is located 200 meters up the road from the Heritage area along the Courniche road. You can visit the Sharjah Contemporary museum, Sharjah art museum, Bait Obaid Alshamsi, and walk around the little area and have a look @ some of the old houses. There are other things that I did not get to see and I am planning to visit them like the Sharjah Art school, Very special Art society (strange name) and the Emirates Fine arts society.

    Sharjah scientific Museum
  • Tip Rating:
  • This facility is directed to kids. It is a good place to introduce scientific concepts in an enjoyable environment through games and fun. Every thing is explained in Arabic and English. There is a play hall for kids less than 5. There is also a gift shop, computer lab and a canteen. There is plenty of presentation about space and other scientific topics. The exhibits introduce to kids things like human anatomy and Physiology; concepts like visual illusions, sound and light properties, Gravity, Probability, space. It also has a microscope and telescope which the Kids can use. The employees are available to help children and explain things to them.

For this place you have to buy another ticket, Adult 5 Dh , Family 10 Dhs

    Recommended Itenarary for Sharjah
  • Tip Rating:
  • If you have 3 days, you can see most of the stuff I mentioned here.

Day 1: You'll have to rent a car for day one to get to the Arabian wild life center, the Sharja natural history, the Animal Hose and Discovery Center. IF you don't have kids you can skip the last 2.

Day2: You can visit The Archeology Museum, the Scientific museum and Al-mahatta museum. You can skip the Science museum if you don’t have kids.

Day 3: you can walk around in "old Sharjah" Heritage area in the morning and you’ll see everything. Some of these sites needs no more than few minutes. Than walk or take a taxi to the Art area and walk around there and see the exihibits.

Al hosn Fort is not worth the visit. Just take a picture from the out side as you pass by it.

You might be able to do all of that in 2 days if you press your self.

    'Areesh
  • Tip Rating:
  • I am lost to what to call these houses. The local name is 'Areesh. They used to be very common 60 years ago in the area. They are made of Palm tree leafs. You can see them @ the Heritage area as you walk around. @ the time of my visit it was closed and I could not enter.

  • Directions: You'll find this place if you walk around behind the Sharjah National Theater,. Look @ "old sharjah sites" tip for Map, Direction, ticketing

    Bait Alshamsi
  • Tip Rating:
  • It is a nice big house, stuff from the art museum get displayed in the out door with this house. This probably the best house in Old Sharjah. I liked it more than Al Naboodah or Al yousef

  • Directions: Located within the Sharjah Art Area, on the main road
