It's well-known that the climate of the United Arab Emirates is dry-subtropical. The quantity of rainy days does not exceed 7-10 a year, mainly during the winter period (January and February).
But we were lucky to see a very strong rain even a thunderstorm in Sharjah in the beginning of December.
You can watch my 2 min 59 sec HD Video Sharjah Thunder storm! out of my Youtube channel with Dato Hughadze – Chito Gvrito.
You may watch my high resolution photo of Sharjah on the Google Earth according to the following coordinates Khalid and Al Khan Lagoons or on my Google Earth Panoramio Rain in Sharjah.

Sharjah is known as a "dry emirate" which means the sale or possession of alcohol within Sharjah is almost entirely forbidden. Also, it is legal to transport alcohol through Sharjah if your final destination permits it (eg. Dubai to Fujairah).
Don't expect all police to be familiar with this rule though!
But this rule haven’t been strictly executed in hotels as you can see at my pics, haha!

Due to Islamic Teachings, Moslims are not allowed to stay "anywhere" solely with a stranger women (not his sister, neither mom , auntym etc,,)..
But if there were more than a woman in the elevator, then its more than two there, so its okey if he enters..
The only condition a man doesnt enter, is when there is only 1 women in the elevator, with no other man joining to enter with him or being there... : )
P.S.: Only Religious Men do follow islamic teachings well..

My family stayed on one of the top floors and I noticed that whenever my sister in law and I were in the lift, no man would enter. I later found out that men would not travel in the same elevator with women if there are no other men present.
I'm not sure if men would enter a lift with women they knew. I could be wrong.

Although I knew that the UAE would be very hot, nothing prepared me for the heat. It's important to drink plenty of water. But all indoors have air conditioners so the only time you would feel the heat if you're outside and walking.

Because blue skies are the norm in the Gulf, when the sky is cloudy in Sharjah be warned that this could mean a rain storm is on its way. Thinder storms are possible with quite spectacular lightning.
In fact at beginning of the Irag War we heard a terrible explosion, but it was thunder, and then the skies opened.

As hot as the weather is, women must way appropriate clothing when outside. So wearing 3/4th pants are a no-no and so are sleeveless tops.
