Cine Star cinemas are located on level-2 of Deira City Centre. These are 11 cinemas showing different movies at a time. Normal economy seat ticket cost AED 30 ( $ 8 appox) per person. You can also become their "Star Club" member to enjoy attractive discounts. There is an exclusive lounge and food court inside for cinema guests. They also have VIP seating with more luxury for guests. But VIP ticket is expensive for sure. All cinemas have digital sound system, huge flat screen, air conditioned halls and very comfortable seating arrangement. in both classes.
I love to watch movies in Cine Star cinema whenever I go to Dubai. Mostly i prefer watching their late night shows. I just take my dinner from exclusive food court and enjoy them while watching movie. In short, watching a movie in Cine Star cinemas is an experience of the life time. You may check out their website at http://www.cinestarcinemas.com/ for more details. For information about movie timings please dial +971 4 949000. Leave a Comment

Lucky draws are an important feature of the shopping festivals held in Dubai. Many shopping malls participate in these lucky draws.Usually one coupon is given for every AED 100 shopping. Huge amount of money is distributed among winners every week. You would see many people completing coupons and dropping them into draw box placed in side shopping malls. These lucky draws are regular feature of Ramadan sales, Dubai shopping festival and Dubai summer surprises festival. Leave a Comment

Looking at the sun set over the creek, a cool glass in hand, from the bar of the yacht club is definitely one of my best memories of Dubai. On the skyline, the most obvious landmark are the Emirates Towers, on the left hand side. Leave a Comment

The flag contains colours usually associated with the Islamic world. The flag consists of three equally sized horizontal stripes with a red vertical stripe on the left side of the flag. The horizontal stripes are from top to bottom, green, white and black. It is believed to be based on the Arab Revolt Flag which was created in 1916, and flown by Arab nationalists during their liberation struggle against Ottoman (Turkish) rule. Red, white, black and green are called the pan-Arab colors and have been historically linked to the Arab people and Islamic faith for centuries. They stand for Arab unity and independence and can be seen in the flags of many countries in the region.
The UAE was created when seven "Sheikdoms" (the rulers of the 7 entities are "Sheikhs", rather than "Emirs" despite the country's name) in the middle-east joined to form one country on 2 Dec 1971. They were formerly called "The Trucial States". The 7 entities are: Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Fujairah, Ras al-Khaimah & Umm al-Qaiwain. Abu Dhabi is the biggest of the 7 "Emirates" and by default, its ruler is the President of the country. Dubai, rich from commercial wealth, holds the Prime Minister post. All the rulers rule the country through a ruler council. Leave a Comment

Dubai has no culture and character. Arabs make up only 20% of the population and you will hardly see or interact with them. They hide behind tall compound walls in their mansions. The taxi drivers are all Pakistanis and Bangladeshis, the hotels and businesses are run by Indians. These are people who are not allowed to bring their families to stay with them even if they have been working there for 20-30 years. The permits to bring families are dictated by how much you earn. Low wage earners are denied the right to be with families. They have an option of bringing them to visit at their expense for 3 months in a year but not more than that. There is nowhere to see the local culture except in a make believe area at the museum. The Arabs otherwise like to ape the west and everything else is geared to that. However they do things backwards! They built big big buildings but not enough roads to accommodate the traffic. Traffic jams are a nightmare in this man made make believe city. There is construction everywhere. They are building more tall buildings, roads and elevated rail lines, there is chaos everywhere. Hyped for tax free shopping, the prices are the same as in Australia and US and more than what you pay in Thailand or Singapore etc. Even that will stop as they introduce VAT from next year. The climate is VERY VERY HOT & HUMID. One wonders what is there to see or do in Dubai. NOT WORTH VISITING!!!!
The sunglasses and camera lenses fogging up due to the heat and humidity! The pictures come out all hazy.
