Memorial near of Nasser Square by bugulma There are very beautiful places in the center of the city in evenings. Because of high temperature in midday, the life in the city begins in the evenings and you can do everything that you could do in midday in another not hot place. The life pulses in evenings. It's pity but I didn't make photos of the night city. But be sure it's super!! Leave a Comment Theme: Other

Wild, unfiltered music at Regal Plaza by Siddha3th Far from the glossy, airbrushed pages of travel brochures & ads, Dubai has a dangerous and just plain horny underbelly which doesn't enjoy quite the same world-wide exposure as, say, the Burj al Arab. A shame really, since this seamy, human side is just as much an integral facet of the city's make-up as gold and shopping. We're talking a world filled with hookers and hookah, people. Gangsta' spouting home-grown pimps, in safe MOR Dubai. A parallel universe, that Dubai would like to keep hidden away forever from the millions that pour in here each year. Every part of the city has its own collection of these raucuous haunts. Where "What drink can I get for you?" is almost as ubiquituous as "How much?" Put aside your prudishness and insecurities, 'cause traipsing through this minefield of sights and sounds is a loud, dolby-surround experience that hits you hard... and sure. Crazy, wild-spirited women friends of mine have on plenty an occasion coerced me into accompanying them inside one of these haunts. And they've had a ball! Revelled in the surreal colours & flavours inside these dives, laughed themselves silly at the old geezers trying to hook up with someone speaking absolutely no English, and played up their sluttiness factor just for kicks!!! Life's too short guys, and let's be real. No one's going to force you into doing anything here. Everyone's a grown-up, and if you keep a good sense of humour about you, you come away with a Dubai snapshot that not many will. But the most important reason to frequent Dubai's darker side, is the amazing, unsung music you'll come across in any of these dives! Anonymous bands who no one knows about, but who can thrash their way through a set of '80s hard rock, grunge and noisy synth-pop, alost in the same breath! The Filipinos who play at the pub at the York hotel, the African band at the President Hotel, and a host of motley musicians plying their trade across Deira and Bur Dubai - they're the true characters of this "picture-perfect" little city of ours. Cinderella Rockafella, getting into their stride by Siddha3th, 3 more photos Gritty and legendary. A world away from the poshness of pretty little clubs, the Rock Bottom Cafe in Bur Dubai wears its underdog status like a badge of pride. Anything and everything can go down here, and on most nights, it usually does! This place is pretty huge, and there's everything from a pool parlour (with plenty of pool tables) to a dancefloor to a mini-stage packed into RBC. Not to mention 3 separate bars. The kicking resident band, Cinderella Rockafella, posses just the right amount of swagger 'n zeal to drive regular patrons into a suitably drunk frenzy. (In)famous, raunchy, sweaty. Guess RBC's gonna' remain the same till its last bar stool's been hung up. And three cheers to that! Preferably with the bar's in-house superstar - The Bullfrog :)
There's a dress code?! Well someone forgot to tell the people in here!! ;) Leave a Comment Theme: Adult SpotDirections: Regent Palace Hotel, opposite Burjuman, in Bur Dubai.

Note the clover leaves on the signage :) by Siddha3th God bless the Irish. As if creating Guiness weren't enough, they also went and populated almost every major city in the world with atleast one quaint, neighborhood pub which went on to become everybody's staple. In the locality of Bur Dubai, that honour rests with Waxy O' Conner's (Waxy's, for short). Short on frills and almost dangerously dingy, nothing really strikes you about the interiors upon first entering the joint. Pool table inside, a couple of bars, and loads of sofas 'n tables strewn about - pub by numbers, mostly. But what Waxy' lacks in the style department, it more than makes up with its outrageous theme nights. Karaoke showdowns, '80s get-togethers, and more free alcohol for the girls than should be legal. And then there's the Friday Brunch - a rowdy, inebriated affair resulting from a 50 Dhs. free-for-all! A nice place to warm your soul (and throat) before heading off elsewhere. For those of us in Bur Dubai, Waxy's IS our Cheers :)

Jimmy Dix by Rinjani Another recommended place to go for clubbing lover. Drink and dance, or glancing at the party crowds or just enjoy the music. But, well, party lover loves it and the clubbing fan can’t resist it. Usually, at weekend night, this place becomes really crowd and hard to move. (weekend in Dubai usually Thursday-Friday, even though some people have weekend on Friday-Saturday) In the week days, they offer a calm night with selection food for dinner. Note: Guys usually charge AED 50-100 for entrance, including drinks. Ladies are free.

Colour of Chameleon by Siddha3th Another fantastic addition to Wafi's restaurant/ bar collection, Chameleon is a swanky affair minus any of the pathetic pretension. The Chameleon staff are mainly to blame for this, a helpful, lively bunch who go about their business with a sense of pride. Watch out for Olga, the tall girl with a lovely smile... she'll point out everything that's a must-have on the menu. At Chameleon, the ceilings are low, the light is muted and the atmosphere is heavy on that lazy vibe. There's a small stage set aside for the resident jazz band to come shake things up on Saturday & Sunday nights. Ah, and then there's the cocktails! A pretty crazy selection on offer - including Va-Va Voom... a peach concoction laced with vodka. Post 11, all shooter's 'n cocktails come at 2 for the price of 1. Life is beautiful :)
Smart casual - sneakers and t-shirts would be a no-no. Leave a Comment Theme: Live MusicDirections: Pyramids at Wafi, a few paces from Planet Hollywood.

Entrance to iBO by Siddha3th I don't do clubs (unless it's an open air set-up under the stars, preferably in Goa!). But I get dragged along by "well-meaning" clubbing enthusiasts from time to time, and end up spending the night thinking I could be somewhere by the ocean, taking in some live music! But it's different strokes for different people, and Dubai's got a bounty of clubs to choose from, if that's what tickles your fancy. One place I DO vibe with is iBO, a gritty, back-to-basics kinda' joint. For one, their theme nights & events aren't run-of-the-mill, with a pretty unique roster of guest DJs and house music from all over the place. Secondly, the mood and decor's very stripped down, garage-like. Which invariably means that the crowd's laidback, just into the music, and nothing else. A worthy detour for the night, iBO's got that different light. Leave a Comment Theme: NightclubDirections: Taxi to the Millenium Airport Hotel, Garhoud.

Dubai's Hard Rock Cafe by najamrulz Hard Rock cafe was opened in Dubai on December 13, 1997. They offer great deals in starters, salads, sandwiches, burgers, steaks, desserts, bar and HRC specialties. The restaurant opens daily at 12 p.m. Their staff is friendly and food is delicious as per HRC traditions. A live rock band performs six nights a week. Fridays are dedicated to children with lots of attractions for kids.
Their is so specific dress codes but you are expected to wear reasonable dress. Leave a Comment

Two tiers of a guaranteed good time. Bar Zar in Madinat Jumeirah is one of the sexier watering holes around, with a laidback crowd flocking faithfully to its shores come the weekend. The stylish interiors manage to create the requisite buzz before the drinks have even hit you - two floors of decadent, crisp touches - square wooden bar area, small, funky stage for the band to strut their stuff, and plasma screens flashing added entertainment for the evening. Though advertised as a sports bar, you won't have the usual sullen-faced aged expat bumbling in for a drink in here. The crowd's visibly energetic and visibly young. Really, the ideal confines in which to congregate for a conversation with friends. The current resident band from Kiwi-land play a pretty eclectic acoustic set (Soul Asylum, Cranberries and even Pearl Jam - yay!), while the in-house music sways effortlessly between too-cool-for-school lounge and a bit of trashy dance! Weather permitting, sit yourself outside, close by Madinat's waters. Let the Bar Zar buzz wash over you. And then return the following week for seconds. Leave a Comment Theme: Adult Spot

Blues Drivers half-way through a live set by Siddha3th Wonderful, free-flowing live music. A gorgeous setting. And an unpretentious crowd made up of appreciative music lovers. When you've lived in Dubai long enough, you really begin to cherish little gems like Peanut Butter Jam. A Friday-night get-together that's a world away from stuffy, dressy clubland, PBJ honestly feels like an intimate jam session at your best friend's place. A talented roster of musicians strum and wail their way through an enjoyable set of acoustic rock and jazz on the rooftop at Wafi. Highlight performers include Frankie and the Boys (with Frankie invigorating smatterings of Sade, Nina Simone and Ella Fitzgerald in her own imitable style) and The Blues Drivers, who lend their own stamp of inventiveness to timeless classics by The Police, Bob Marley, and the like. There are food and alcohol stands on all sides of the make-shift "stadium". Bean bags are thrown all over the steps leading down to the stage, and in fact, surround most of the area close to the stage as well. Uber-casual and unrushed, you could even pop on over to Seville's for some sangria and return to the music between sets. I, for one, hope this jam is gonna' last... :-)
Come as you are! Leave a Comment Theme: Live MusicDirections: Atop the Pyramids at Wafi.
