Jumeirah Emirates Towers are located on Sheikh Zayed Road is in the center of Dubai's commercial business district. They consist in two equilateral triangles are architectural icons one of their kind in Dubai. The Towers are 350-meter office tower and a 305 meter 400 bedroom hotel tower joined by a central area containing a shopping centre.
We entered the hotel and tried to go up with the glass elevator but got stopped by a hotel employee who warned us saying that only guests with keycards are allowed to go up.

Even on the skyscraper-lined Sheikh Zayed Road, the Emirates Towers cut an impressive figure.

These two triangular shaped towers were completed in 2000. One of the towers is an office block, the other is a hotel.

At one time these were the tallest buildings in Dubai, but due to the fast-changing nature of the city and the continuous development, I doubt this is still the case.

Subsequent to first writing this tip, I visited Dubai again in November 2005 and went inside the Emirates Towers for the first time. Underneath the towers there is a shopping mall and a good selection of restaurants offering all manner of international cuisine.

The highlight for me though was taking a glass fronted lift up to Vu's Bar on the 51st floor for a beer overlooking the whole of Dubai. It's a little pricey, but worth it for the great view!

The Emirates Towers are one of the symbols of Dubai - and personally they are my favourite example of modern architecture in the city. They are two triangular towers skyscrapers that belong to the same complex but are quite distinct in their purpose: one is one office tower, and one a hotel tower.

Their height is not the same, although they may appear so: one is 355 metres high and the other 209 metres. There's a mall with shops and restaurants that connects the two towers: it's called the boulevard.

One of Dubai's landmarks, Emirates Towers are located off Sheikh Zayed Road among a stretch of skyscrapers. The towers contain a five-star hotel (Jumeirah Hotel), offices, and an elegant luxury shopping centre (The Boulevard) with names such as Zegna, Armani and Bulgari. It also has a number of good restaurants (al Nafoorah, Noodle House), a wine bar and a top quality gym. The towers are a magnificent example of modern architecture.
