Astounding architecture and ambience
The Ibn Batuta mall is no doubt a shopping mall but it is much more than that. The architecture is superb. They have courts named after different countries / regions in the world and the architecture and ambience to match that. For eg. There is an Egyptian court, an Indian court, Chinese, Persian , Tunisian courts etc.
it is simply marvellous to walk around and take pictures of the designs and elaborate styles displayed.
There are many shops such as Homes R us, geiant super market, lifestyle, perfume shops, food courts etc. even if you do not intend shopping this mall is a must visit for lovers of architecture.
Largest Themed Mall in the World
This will be my things to do tips for the Ibn Batutta Mall
Dubai has a number of firsts like the First Mall and Resor combined in the Mall of the Emiratest, The Largest Mall in the World in the Dubai Mall and the Largest Themed Mall in the World, The Ibn Batutta Mall.
The Ibn Batutta Mall is named after the great Islamic Explorer Ibn Batutta, who is the Marco Polo of the Islamic World. The Mall is laid into 6 themed areas (named after some of the countries and regions he travelled). The Mall is more popular to the local arabs and the foreign expatriates and the clientele is more of the locals, rather than the tourists, as this mall is far from the Dubai International Airport (40 kilometers) and Bur Dubai area (30 kilometers) and it takes a 50 minute ride from the Bur Juman Metro Station to the Ibn Batutta Metro Station via the Dubai Metro Monorail.
Inside The Mall are more than 270 shops (like Debenhams, Geant Supermarket, Pierre Cardin, Timberland, Nautica, Geox, Charles and Keith, etc), 50 restaurants, a 21-screen cinema and over 4,500 parking spaces on a total of 521,000 square meters and is divided into the 6 Regions Ibn Batutta visited, like Andalusia, Tunisia, Egypt, Persia, India and China, is reflected in the architecture and theme of the mall’s six courts.

Ibn Battuta Mall
This mall is a little bit past the mall of the emirates, but I like it quite a lot because throughout the entire building are excellent educational stands, which is ideal if you have kids..
Apparently Ibn Battuta was a chap who lived a few hundred years ago and is the only recorded Arab to travel throughout all the Arabic lands, so based on this theme there are working examples of the first sextant (type object), the boats of the era, maps of the planet showing which lands were Muslim at the time, statues of elephants etc, its quite a lot of fun if you're a bit fed up of the shops and yr looking for something to do.
Besides that, it has all the shops you can shake a stick at INCLUDING an Apple Mac store.

Ibn Battuta Mall
Whether you like to shop or not, go to the Battuta mall and see the fantastic settings they have made - everything revolves around this old traveller Ibn Battuta who are said to have travelled as far east as China and as far west as Alhambra in Spain. Really a nice center though the food is nothing to write home about. good deals on electronics
Ibn Battuta Mall, Six Malls One Destination
Tirelessly to impress tourists, Dubai has one more thing a-must-see place, Ibn Battuta Mal. Ibn Battuta is a famous Arab explorer in 14th century. His travel for about 29 years, covered about 75,000 miles visiting the equivalent of 44 countries which were then mostly under the governments of Muslim leaders of the World of Islam.
The architecture of the mall reflects six the most influential places that Ibn Battuta travelled. The malls divided into six courts; China court, India court, Persia court, Egypt court, Tunisia court and Andalusia.
When you browsing the mall, you can’t help to be impressed by the architecture of the mall. The design ceiling of the mall is blue sky with clouds. The other nice thing is sense of ‘around the world’ that become main attraction of the mall. Can you imagine, you call your friend and say ‘Hi, I am at China, are you at Tunisia?’ Isn’t it cool?
As reflected to its name, every court has its own character. In China, the interior is dominating by red colour and there is a big ship ‘stranded’ in the corner. In India, you will see the elephant in front of big white hall. And in Persia, the detail shows Persian character, etc.
Ibn Battuta Mall is definitely a-must-see place in Dubai that you can list in your agenda when you visit Dubai. It is also like other Dubai project, artificial, but still wow…
