There are several "shisha" shops. These are the middle eastern smoking "systems" that are quite popular around Dubai. These types of cafes and many different restaurants and some bars in hotels are open throughout the city... always something to do in Dubai!
Depends what you like really. Nightlife is hectic, plentiful and very very varied.From Indian nightclubs with Indian bands/dancers;to Philipino clubs with excellent Philipino covers bands;to Irish bars;Lebanese clubs/restaurants with bands & bellydancers;to Aussie bars;to American style bars;to salsa bars...you name it. Ask and you will find one to fit your taste.International name DJs play here regularly, as do top international bands and artists.Planetarium is best decent house/r'n'b club. Many military personnel and aircrew like Rock Bottom, which is more of a sweaty get drunk kind of place, but you will make friends quickly.Dubai is very multi-ethnic = in many places you will be in a mix of many many nationalities. That is one great thing about here.Live bands - many bars have live bands, usually playing covers. Excellent entertainment as they tend to be very accomplished...
Zinc is overrated. Too many prostitutes, door-policy is crazy, queue to get in is long and the place is errrr?. No words to describe it, just err. :p
One can enjoy various dance clubs under the same roof..... Shopping, drinking, dance, boat ride all available there.... No ristriction
A wonderful nightclub at the Fairmont Hotel. Great music. A VERY international crowd. I had a great time. :)

A the Jumeriah Beach Hotel there is a restaurant that is on the beach, open air and over looks the Burj.The wood fired pizza's were the best! Casual - Beach wear!!!
